Kitty corner is the one rational term. I googled it to see what you other weirdos say instead and got poo poo like "cooter cattle" and "carby klimble" or whatever the hell. You're all dumb and wrong for not using the same vernacular as me. :colbert:

There's 4 diagonal directions from a given store. :colbert:

This word means the one on the opposite corner, be it kitty-cornered, kattywampus, or The Wolf is Getting Married.

Honestly "sunshower" is pretty self-explanatory compared to the devil beating his wife.

Surprisingly, that term exists in a few different languages for exactly that.

Wow, this is a rare occasion where there is virtually no word in German for a normal, frequently occuring thing that exists. Even weirder because it has an expression in so many languages. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunshower

Couldn't you just do the German thing and stick two words together to get... *googles* Sonnendusche?

That's way too short. Needs to be more like "Sonnenduscheunderseebootenflugtag"

If I said Sonnendusche people would assume you are showering in sunlight, not that it's actually "showering" while the sun shines. You might be able to say say Sonnenregen ("sun rain") but that's still really weird.

I dunno thew origin of this expression and never heard it (Im not american), but this reminds me of an old riddle for kids "a house has four corners, each corner has a cat, each cat sees 3 cats, how many cats are in the house?"

Anyways, have a cornered cat

Yeah my wife went her entire life up until a few years ago not knowing that not everyone called that event "a monkey's wedding". Or, in fact, that almost nobody in the US has ever heard that term before.

In Dutch we say it's "a funfair in hell", for some reason. Probably as an expression for something that's unlikely to happen.
