I love Rainbow Moon.

It is the deepest game ever. Nothing compares to its epic story.
I'm in the same boat, it's certainly not a lot of money for the amount of entertainment I get from a free game, but Wargamming has got to be the most greedy company I've ever seen in terms of charging money for virtual inventory. Especially considering you have to pay MORE money to actually use the experience you earn on the boat.

Compare this to competitors, Gajjin, who regularly offer sales on EVERYTHING. I'm pretty sure premium for a year cost me $60 bucks for two years. Planes were more along the lines of 5-10 bucks, with frequent sales.

To me, it seems like it'd make sense to lower the prices on these boats to get more people to buy them, but based on the amount of premium ships I see in game, I don't see this happening any time soon.

These blanket 2x exp events are pretty poor too... in closed beta they offered you credit discounts on purchasing ships of different varieties. Just seems weird that they put an end to all of that. Buying a ship you're completely at their mercy of rebalance. Well, if I drop $70 bucks, that ship better never change and I better always love it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying this game a lot and, like other f2p games I played, I would be glad to give the devs some money for making a good game. I just would like to avoid feeling like I'm being ripped off by doing so.

Think of it this way though. You get a shiny ship in a high tier, and skip an rear end TON of grinding and bad ships. You're basically paying for 6 months of sub, or a really high box price.

Gaijin has downright sane pricing almost across the board.

After confirming the price I just went ahead and got the Tirpitz code last week from the same dude who gave me the marblehead. Cheaper to give him a few free mags through the mp-5 at the range this weekend than to pay romneybux.

On the other hand selling crew improvements as big as what they offer is desperately trying to push you into spending some, and kinda p2w.

Much saner than WG. I'll sometimes be looking at Gaijin's stuff and be able to go 'Hey, I'll kick in 5 bucks for a cool prototype I can use for grinding'.

WG's stuff is all way too expensive to bother buying.

Well, again, I agree with all these statements... but apparently there's plenty of people buying them, since the rooms are filled with 70 bucks a head...

There's a new intro movie, and it finally matches the actual gameplay - a cruiser utterly annihilating everything that can be seen.

I have the Warspite and the Tirpz.

The Warspite is very much a brawler, mainly because WG seem to have forgotten what ship has the longest recorded hit in naval warfare but we will ignore that. She excels in getting close up and dishing out very large amounts of hurt at close quarters, shooting down pesky airplanes at the same time. I play VERY aggressively and I don't have very many games where I survive but I take an awful lot of ships with me when I go. It's pluses are it turns fast, good HP pool, good secondaries and AA and is also ROYAL NAVY. :britain:
Downsides are main gun range, speed, and turret rotation. The thing spins in about 3 times it's own length, you'll just be waiting a while for the guns to catch up.

The Tirpz on the other hand is a bit more elegant. Good speed, nice accuracy, very difficult to hit a citadel, good secondaries, torps for any BB stupid enough to want to get close and slug it out and it seems to me to manage to last a long time in battle. You very rarely get citadel hits on you so it's really easy to manage your health, Dreadnaught is pretty easy to get on this thing. However, the caveat to all this is that it is bought and played by some of the most loving incompetent, loving risk averse, loving retard fucks going. It excels at getting to mid range and just blowing poo poo to bits but pubbies play it as a stand off device, firing at the utter limits of the guns and running at the first sign of trouble. I have no idea why, it just happens every single game, you can charge in, kill four ships, do loads of damage and then look to see your team losing by being capped out because the brave Teutonic warriors don't want to get their ship damaged.

I would play the Tirpz non stop but this happens EVERY. SINGLE. GAME.

So yes, Warspite and Tirpitz are my two favorite premiums by far and are up in my top 5 all time faves.

I know they said the first season is kind of a test, but they really went :effort: with the ranked battle rewards. Shitloads of mostly useless flags and some camo, hooray. The playerbase has so soured me on the game, I don't think 3 million credits and some Zulu +20% credit flags are enough.

And I just earned my first ever close combat specialist, in a Cleveland vs. another Cleveland. Turns out two Clevelands quartering towards each other with AP loaded don't do very much damage to each other. :haw:
