He is happy, who in himself possesses fame and wit while living; for bad counsels have oft been received from another’s breast. One of his Majesty's first acts are to unite the people of Skåne by giving them a common goal to focus on and deter them away from the plight of the Prussians. Steps are taken to support longer range for the normal merchant fleets The east coast of the island known as Beothuk in native tongue is chosen as suitable land to setup the first colony and brave families line up to join the expedition leader Balder Gron.    The Lithuanians are being completely overrun by the Romuvan zealots and is close to breaking point. The Scanian armies are going by a slow approach as commanded by King Estrid, not to risk lifes and just take control back to his rule. But the rebels are relentless and charge over the border to Narva and attacks an unprepared Scanian army.    In the west, the first settlers arrive in Beuthuk but the land is harsh and far away so growth will be slow. In Finland to fight to halt the advance of the rebellion the Second Royal Army is placed in Neva to strengthen the fort and protect against any invasion. The Rus, a trusted ally of the Lithuanians have abandoned the fight against the Romuvans as they have been dragged into war with the Bolghar hordes to the east.    The Romuvans return to fighting in Lithuania and the armies of Skåne return to slowly take back the Finish land to their control. In the west as Sir Skeel makes contact with the native Kingdoms along the coast one of these Kings asks for Sir Skeel's presence at a feast as the Northern Skræling Kingdoms have heard much of the "Slayers of the Nahua" and "Destroyers of Empires" across the sea who could stop the Legions of the Tenochtitlan Empire and wish to meet these great warriors themselves. Of course such an offer could not be refused.   The Romuvans unable to break the line of defense managed by Eskild at the south they decide to walk through Russia and Karelia to enter the northern parts of Finland completely avoiding the Royal and Foreign Armies. But it meant the Estonian people could be returned to the Kings control with ease. But in the year of 1486 and after so much bloodshed the Lithuanian government surrender to the rebels and the State of Lietuva is formed ruled by King Daumantas Ugandi.    Oluf Skeel finishes his expedition to the land to the south of the Beothuk colony and brings home maps of this new land and the Kingdoms therein.  The formation of Lietuva did not stop the rebellions but rather organized them in Skåne. The King of the newborn realm supported their efforts and wanted to also put claim on the Scanian parts of Prussia and he ordered the rebels to siege down the fortress of Trelleborg to force King Estrid to surrender. However it meant that some troops would split off and could be picked off by the 1st Foreign Army.   The rebel armies marching towards Skåne's heartland however did not dissuade the King from continuing in strengthening the Viking Revival Policy, in fact he decides to use it to strengthen the colony of Beothuk by making it more lucrative to flee there away from strife. He enacts the Colonial Supply Act which guarantees the settlers that ships will bring in supplies in a steady pace making sure they are never cut off from the homeland.   So far the Rebels haven't really affected the big population centers and they had at most only heard of the great revolts in the Prussian colonies but it had not affected their day to day life. King Estrid's decision to import the Printing Press had lead to a revolution throughout southern Scandinavia and all forms of literature becomes common and available for the nobles and intellectuals of the cities to purchase. Also the Holy Scripture, the Words of our All-Father, becomes available to the common folk and even if most of them are illiterate it was a popular buy all over the country.  In the north Commander Ottar Vind engages one of the splinter armies and reinforcements are coming to aid him against the more numerous foe. A messenger arrives at the court of King Estrid and accuses the Northerners for genocide Prussians with its armies. King Estrid laughs at the notion and tells the messenger to bring to his Lord that he is the King of the Prussians and he is defending their right to a life in peace which will be defended by the Royal Army of Skåne and all the might he can bear.    Shortly thereafter the last rebel army falls. Peace returns to the realm and Prussia is quickly put back under control of the Crown. Same year, 1487, the Emperor of the Romans falls ill and dies and Raoul of Bohemia is elected to replace him. With no more crisis for King Estrid to handle he quickly becomes surrounded by noble's daughters and courtiers who all appreciate his attention. Soon enough a legitimate heir is born from one of his concubines.    While the Royal and Foreign Armies get time to rest and refit Sir Oluf Skeel continues his voyages to the south of Vinland and discovers a chain of islands and huge merchant fleets that travel between them and to the northern kingdoms. With France reclaiming their position as a nation of any relevance they start to view Skåne as their natural rival as their king desires to add the land of the Bretons to his demesne.   News come from the colony in Beothuk that the natives in the area has massacred the settlers that peacefully had settled land nearby. The colonization efforts of Vinland is slowed and people afraid to travel to this land so King Estrid ratifies a charter of a new company within the army. The 1st Colonial Garrison to keep the natives at bay and protect the people of Skåne living there now. However with manpower shortage from the long conflicts with the various cultures within the country the King is forced to take two regiments from the Skottish Garrison to fulfill this. With the Skotish Princes calmed for now it was deemed a safe move.   As manpower still is a problem for the Royal Army more reforms are done to Bohuslän to provide more food and hopefully allow more people to live in the region. But the armies barely get any rest before they are drawn into service again. The Thing and his court appealed to King Estrid to not join the Jomsvikings war against the Empire but His Majesty was sure victory would go to the righteous and that trough his leadership Norse land would be returned to their rightful owners. The Kingdom is at War.   The armies of the Free City of Weimar had already reached Slesvig and the 2nd Royal Army is first to engage them with the First Royal Army en-route. Reinforcements keep pouring in on both sides but the Norse armies hold the advantage and it ends in a glorious victory for King Eskild as the First Royal Army arrives.    To try and stop King Esklid to use the momentum gained from his victory the Emperor puts his full force of the Imperial Army to fight the Norse armies before they even have the time to push forward. Eskild gives the command to mobilize the Skottish Garrison and bring them to northern Jylland to support the war effort.    But before advancing against the enemy the so far produced prototypes and copied arquebuses created by craftsmen are handed out to the Royal Forces to see their effectiveness and what can be improved. The few regiments equipped show an incredible deadliness in their firepower and much superiority to the Spanish counterparts the Germans had adopted for their armies. It is safe to say that our scholars and craftsmen had done progress in their work but much more could be done.    It is a big victory over the Germans as they are forced to flee into heartland of the Empire and the push to take back land lost begins. Smaller skirmishes occur as the Royal Armies of King Eskild the Great advances through Northern Germany but nothing large enough to stop him as the Emperor has been defeated and broken by the thundering fire of these new Arquebuses.    News come from traders in the East that operate with Jórsalheim as base that the large empire of Seljuks have adopted the Numeral Runes that was invented by Jórsalheim merchants as the official mathematical language of their entire state to make trading easier and thus more profitable in the region. The King wise in his governance know that the tide of the war can turn if the home front does not stay stable and as such administration efforts are done to ensure that does not happen. With all going on in the east and two cultures trading with each other with more than just goods but even knowledge and ideas the local communities started to merge and the idea of the people living there being distinct from Arabs and Danes becomes true. The local populace had developed a common tounge by borrowing each others words and they all refer to themselves as Jórsalfarare in Jerusalem no matter if they were children of Odin, Christ or Mohammed.    Being the main trading hub in the east the dialect of Jórsalfari spreads quickly over to the nearby land of Jerusalem. The Merchant Families of the East who now speaking a bastardization of Danish and Arabic and hold a strong grip around the trade from the Silk Road started demanding a larger role in the governance of the Kingdom before they would lend more money to the state to support the war. Of course they were refused of such a silly notion, a more expensive loan is taken from the clergy instead.   To prevent the Brandenburg Duke to collect his forces and strike back against the invading force, Eskild the Great commands both the Royal Armies and the Skottish Garrison to engage his armies in the woods of Braunschweig. It is yet another success for our King. Shortly thereafter their capital falls.    The Emperor now in panic tries to stop the Royal Army and attacks it recklessly and calls in the Poles to fight the Northerners claiming it is the will of god. The Bohemians are defeated but Brandenburg is still reluctant for peace as the Poles has joined. The Order of Jomsvikings are eager to continue the war to reclaim all the lost land but Estrid knows well the attrition the war has put on the Scanian treasury and manpower. He persuades the Duke of Brandenburg to end the conflict only giving the Jomsvikings Rostock and no gains for Skåne itself. It is a wise choice as King Estrid that not even he could turn the tables when fresh Polish troops were marching towards them and it was better choice to take what we could for now and return later when the Kingdom of Skåne is better prepared for a large scale conflict.   As King Estrid returns he makes reforms to the hierarchical Ting put in place in Skåne making them all adhere to formal rules and that dedicated structures should be put up to house the local Ting's just as a special chamber in Trelleborg has been dedicated to house the Högting. The Merchants of Trelleborg has also done improvements to construction of docks to better handle loading and unloading of goods.   On the Iberian peninsula astonishing news reach Estrid as he hears of that the inventor of the Arquebus has now invented Field Artillery that completely turned the tide in the war against the mighty Almoravids who are now being overrun by Gascone's soldiers. Who would have thought that the inventions of a man would make a small Duke of nearly nothing rise to be a major player in the Wars of Iberia.   In the west another colony is created by a disgruntled young noble who stood to inherit not much by his uncle and so he manages to get together 200 settlers to travel with him to claim their own land in Vinland next to Beothuk. With so many advances being made with Gunpowder every nation of relevance utilizes it by now and it no longer becomes anything special on the battlefield. Sir Oluf Skeel finally finds the path to the Nahuatl Empire but it becomes quickly apparent that the Emperor of Tenochtitlan would see Oluf Skeel dead if he or his men laid his foot on Aztec Soil.    With King Estrid the Great's guidance and now having peaceful time fall upon the Kingdom the spirit to explore the unknown and settle in Vinland is strengthened. His Majesty also takes it upon himself to reform the military while he has opportunity to do so and starts recruiting two regiments of Draki from the Gleipnir Order in Jórsalheim to serve in the Royal Army. Brandenburg manages to get Poland into a formal alliance to defend each other against the threat from the north if Skåne or the Jomsvikings ever dared to push south again, as if that would deter the hearts of the Norse warriors.    More reforms are done by Estrid and four regiments of Mortars are recruited inspired by Gascone but not as mobile as the field artillery they had in their armies. In the land where the Romuvan rebellion had been strong the populace has given up on their crusade to reclaim their ancestral land and has instead started to abandon it and migrate to Lietuva. The supply ships to Beothuk and Taqamkuk has been reporting that the colony has started to become more and more self reliant as they have found bountiful amounts of fish and farmland for the settlers to feast upon. It is even to the degree that the supply ships return with fish and grain for sale in Trelleborg's markets.    Thanks to the weaponry now being crafted in Gascone the Norman troops of the Aragonian King can finally make a push into the Almoravids heartland. Henrik Dunbar, proves to be a successful courtier to the King as he had been essential to many of the reforms the King had pushed through to try and modernize the army. Sir Skeel continues his chartering of the Southern Skrælingland and finds small tribes along the coast who aren't as developed as the Central and Northern Kingdoms.    In the middle-east more and more of the people near Jórsalheim has adopted the language of Jórsalfari to make trading easier and it has even started to spread down along the red sea. In Dalaskogen with its renown copper mountain a workshop is setup to help facilitate the increased need for copper for the bronze mortars and arquebuses. Other improvements are also done to improve mining of the valuable copper. The scholars and craftsmen report more progress on the development of the Scanian variant of the Arquebus and they are almost ready on a version that don't accidentally blow up in the soldiers face from time to time.    Goods that has started to stream in huge amounts from the east to the markets of Trelleborg that is beloved by the nobles is something called Coffee that the Arabs produce. Apparently Coffeehouses has already been opening in Jórsalheim and the local nobility and merchantmen meet and discuss future endeavors and ideas there. Oops forgot the Stanza from the Holy Scripture. Added that and I'll give you an example of how the Jórsalheim runes look later today. They are not however superior to arabic numerals but are rather alike. It is however the fact that the Merchant class of the Viking cultures have become the dominant traders in most of the Old world reaching all the way from the Frozen sea of the North to the bay of Bohai in their trading network. making the runes they use the most commonly seen. The Seljuk adoption of it was an "official stance to it", it was already used in most parts of the country but the remote ones in the north. Norse advisors has started to become common in foreign courts to the east who teach about trade and matters of war.

It is based on a base of 20 known as the Vigesimal and quite similar to what we in our timeline call the Arabic numbers when it comes to in how you construct the number in text..  The Högting convenes in the great halls of Trelleborg to discuss the future guiding policies of the Crown but the King raises one policy himself that he wants to see enacted Option 1: Uniformity Enforcement Policy  The Uniformity Enforcement Policy has returned on the table and it did gather a big amount of support for a while when the Skots were revolting and with the Prussian crisis but with King Estrid's skillful management of his administration calm and peace has returned to the realm. But there is still problems brewing in the far stretching Kingdom and the King insisted that the policy should be taken up for consideration to ensure safety of the realm for the future. Option 2: Military Service Reformation Policy  The Military Service Reformation Policy is also still very actual, even though now it is not for fighting internally the many nobles of the Kingdom have gotten power hungry and desire more land now that the Realm has become stable under the guiding hand of our King. They want us to reform our military further than just simply modernizing it to make the Kingdom an Empire of War. Option 3: Warrior Aristocracy Policy  This policy is proposed by His Majesty Estrid himself as he seeks to strengthen and empower the Nobility while as well strengthen the Royal Crown's grip around them through reformation of old laws and enactment of new ones. The Aim to keep what the North is famous for, a Warrior Elite made up by the Aristocracy and make it into a strength that will make the world tremble. But this vote is not all that the Tingemen of the Högting has to consider but his Majesty Lawspeaker of the Ting, King Estrid 'the Great' rises up and speaks to the assembly starting by reciting the words of our All-Father as written in the most Holy of Scriptures. "Stanza Sixteen. A coward believes he will ever live if he keep him safe from strife: but old age leaves him not long in peace though spears may spare his life. These are strong words from the wisest of Gods and we must not forget the knowledge he shares with us from his eons long life where he has seen all and done all. Option 1: The Pomeranian Campaign  The most obvious option is to reclaim all the lost Norse land in Pomerania. But for most nobles they claim this is not enough, we should push deeper into the German and Polish heartland and claim more for the glory of the All-Father blessed be his name. Option 2: Unification of the Isles  Another option is to finally put all of the Isles under rule of Norse lords by invading the last stronghold of Christianity there. Option 3: Invade the East  To the east we have several weaker Kingdoms and tribes than our own who would serve as easy picking for our much more developed Royal Forces. We have the various finish tribes that can not put up any form of resistance however poor in population the dividends would not be high for those wars. However we do have the Kingdom of Rus who does have a substantial population base. Option 4: Fall of an Empire  The Seljuk Empire is rich but decadent. Their Armies and manpower depleted, if Skåne would be able to deal a decisive blow against this Empire it would likely fall into a spiral of destruction. However it is risky as they do hold the Hordes of the Steppe as close allies. However most of these strides forward had been believed to have been invented by the Cree who would have been around the region where the Cececatlacatl*** would have had their settlement. Traders who are innovative by nature of their profession always look to increase their profits and with various improvements to sailing which had been key to create the Trade network of the Caribs had also made it capable of our longboats to travel outside of the archipelago. It is how Our Emperor Tepin, Beloved By All May His Soul Rest, found the island of Bermuda in the middle of the Great Sea of the East and claimed it for the Nahuatl People and their Empire Everlasting. Court Lord Servant Xiuhpilli Zelmac had great success in establishing contact with the Speaker of Franctli and he proposed the idea of the Empire Everlasting to shower their leaders in Gold beyond their dreams in exchange for the Aztec being allowed to plant Potatoes and Maize in the farmlands of Franctli to feed the Nahuatl at home*. But besides the Lord Servant's best efforts the Demons of the East were stubborn in their ways and would rather have an entire civilization starve than to swap their inferior grain for the Potatoes and Maize which given to us by the gods are superior in every aspect. It was at this moment it was decided that for the sake of our entire Culture to be saved there was but the option of war. As the second wave landed we continued our advance into the larger Island of the group where the Kingdom of Enctaloch was and we ran them over with all our might. With the land fertilized by the blood of the Demons we started forcing the local people that we did not sacrifice upon the roof-tops of their great cities into slavery. To cultivate the land with our crops so that our people can feed. Now the Great Hunger can finally come to an end. Calixcopa Milchimalli - Year 1300 A long bloody war has taken place between our Colony and the Easterners as they rallied all together to try and push us away. But in the homeland the war with our southern rival empire had ended in glorious victory for our Emperor, Beloved By All, and much of the Colonial Garrison could be returned to the islands to defend it. But many men was lost on both sides and the Colonial Command does not think it can hold another conflict of the same scale without losing territory.  Calixcopa Milchimalli - Year 1308 Disaster! The Cececatlacatl has invaded the land we took from them in order to reclaim it. Our armies have been exerted too far to win but we will hold out to the last man as this is the duty we hold to our Emperor, Beloved By All. Also before anyone goes "But Groogy, the Aztecs could never have transported home food over the Atlantic! It would go old!" Not true, at least I think, Potatoes and Maize flour would stay fresh long enough to actually still be usable when it reaches the empire if the travel time is between 8-12 weeks per trip. Rather than voting FOR something, I will put my vote AGAINST the Uniformity Act. We need to realize that our enemy aren't the Romuvans or the Scots, but the Christians to the south and the Muslims to the south-east. These worshippers of single deities claim our way to be wrong, our gods to be false. The Romuvans are just like us, as are even the Nahuatl to the east: We just follow different families of gods. Nothing says we can't accept one another as brothers in faith, united against those who deny the existence of our gods, of any gods beyond their own really. With that said I believe an invasion of England to be paramount to our interests. If we are to continue our expansion into the West we'll need a good base to stand on, which I personally consider England to be. Thus, Option 2!

He asks them to vote on a new act written by His Majesty himself called "The Abolishment of the Lawspeaker Act". As the Military Service Reformation Policy is adopted by the Högting, His Majesty Estrid immediately passed the Act of Royal Duty enforcing the Crown Law over the Kingdom by giving the Royal Armies the jurisdiction to recruit any man in the Kingdom to their ranks regardless of the mans lord appeal to such an act. The Act purpose was to open up more regions for recruitment to the Royal Armies defending our great nation.against its threats. This change saw some opposition besides from it overruling local laws but the act also specified any "Man" and no any "Freeman" meaning thralls were not except from the recruitment. But it will take a long time for the Kingdom to recover from the past conflicts.    From the East it becomes heard that the Bolghar hordes that have roamed the steppe have slowly been settling in the large cities of the Silk Road and can no more call themselves nomads. Some of their tribes still roam the steppe but act as farmers and herders for the much larger Empire.    This opens of the possibilities of the Kievan merchants letting them increase their influence more in the Cities of the East and reach even further in their trade network. But this also opened up possibilities for the Russian merchants who had made vast wealts in trading in the Baltic and the first merchant bank is opened up in the City of Pskov whose rivers leads both to Skåne and Kiev. With the trade routes east becoming more open and the Eastern states having more ducats to throw around the demands on copper increase and most of this copper comes from Mora in Sweden who has its operations expanded on and more people moved there to meet the demands. At the end of year 1500 Dalaskogen is producing almost 25% of the worlds supply of Copper.    King Estrid also funds the Duke of Pommerania, well what is left of his land, to promote the traders and merchants present in his land as they are the gateway to the German Princes and their goods through the Oder Estuary in Stettin. But in the Baltic there is not only peace and quiet as the Poles invades Lietuva to reclaim the land to their Christian Lord. King Estrid offers to Lietuva to join the war and defend them against the Poles, their King in panic obviously accepts that offer and the invasion plans of England are delayed... for now.    The 1st Royal Army and 1st Foreign Army commanded by His Majesty himself and Lord Ottar Vind head up trough Finland to reach the Romuvan land from the Estonian passage. The only real direct threat to the heartland of Skåne itself is the Imperial Army of the Holy Roman Empire as the Poles call in their allies. The 2nd Royal Army and the Royal Fleet are ordered to guard the islands and defend them at all costs. The Polish armies react quickly to the news of the Great Scanian Kingdom to their north joining the war and immediately invades the heavily fortified Prussian land.    Lübeck who has dreamed for decades about taking control of the Baltic tries a bold move to take the Danish islands to the south of Sjælland. The 2nd Royal Army moves to intercept. In the conflict a German Officer in the Imperial Army by the name Rettil Wachtmeister had converted to the Norse faith and had fled to Trelleborg seeking refuge from the Catholic oppression, he is shown to be a quick mind and excellent skill in the arts of war and quickly becomes one of King Eskild's most favored advisers. In the Baltic the Baltic Patrol Squadron finds the small Lübeck warfleet and engages it reducing them all to splinters. Displaying the Scanian supremacy of the seas.    Even though the realm is at war, most of it doesn't even notice it as it takes part in land on the other side of the Sea, the merchant men and craftsmen continue their work as usual and just as the Seljuk's the Jórsalheim Numeral Runes has become the in-official standard of the entire realm to represent numbers and to count math with.With Eskild away in Estonia the the court continues with his reformation program and takes out loans to enact a reformation of all official records to use the Jórsalheim Numeral Runes instead of the Latin one that had come in use after the Christening of Scandinavia.  In the Islands the Lübeck army and the Imperial Army are engaged and swiftly defeated. Lietuva tries to sneak around the Polish armies and invade their undefended land but the Army in Prussia quickly turn around and catches the Romuvans.    In Lithuania the first army to arrive is the 1st Foreign Army commanded by Lord Vind and he engages the Imperial Forces trying to take Klaipéda. The Royal Army with King Estrid comes afterwards and reinforces and His Majesty quickly takes hold of the situation and defeats the Germans. With him he brings the newly formed Arquebus armed Draki regiments and the few primitive cannons the Royal army has. A combined usage of the inaccurate cannons to scare the enemy forces and the maneuverability of the Draki proves devastating on the battlefield and His Majesty shows his excellence on commanding gunpowder based regiments. The battle shows that a new era was coming to warfare where gunpowder would decide the victor and the tacticians of the future will have to adapt or be left in the dust. It shows clearly as the more serious casualties in the battle were the Mercenaries of the 1st Foreign Army who were not properly supported by this new technology.    Before the Scanian armies can recuperate and reorganize themselves the Poles and Austrians engage them trying to force them to submission. But His Majesty manages to command the disarray and manages to perform a successful slow retreat saving the army from devastation. Meanwhile in the west the 2nd Royal Army starts to march upon Lübeck to force the Danish Nobles of the city into submission.    The Scanian armies defeated is only a minor setback and thanks to Estrids maneuvers they are quick to bounce back. Klapédia is retaken to Lietuvan control and then Eskild engages the Polish army to the south in Ortelsburg with much less numbers than them, however this time he is properly prepared to engage them and he manages to trick them to take the offensive. The new copper arquebuses and cannons of Skåne and Eskild's leadership proves too much for the Polish alliance o beat and as their leaders stand unable to act as they are outflanked their soldiers lose heart and flee.   The Royal Army and the Foreign Army stations themselves in Warmia behind the mighty fortresses of Prussia to recuperate their losses and prepare for the next battle. But war is a costly matters and the rich merchants families of Trelleborg refuse to support the troops of the realm which is destabilizing the part of the Baltic where they make most of their trade.   For some reason unknown to Eskild the allies of Poland move their troops away from the frontline exposing the Polish troops to attack. His Majesty is quick to exploit the opportunity. Realizing their mistake the Germans come to try and save their ally but its too late.    But even their efforts are in vain and King Eskild's superior skills show on the field as he inspires his entire legion of warriors to fight back the numerical superior Imperial Forces. The Germans refer to him as "The Warrior King" knowing only from him in times of war. With the defeat and the Lübeck City in control of the Scanians they peace out of the war to spare their necks. With the Second Royal Army free they start to invade the Polish Pomeranian land.    The Royal Court hearing of how close King Eskild is to the actual battle send messengers to the Royal Forces asking them that His Royal Majesty is to return home because of his aging health. He laughs and dismisses the advice with "I shall not give Hel the pleasure of adding me to her collection, I shall die for our country, I shall die for the future of our kin."  While on the battlefield Eskild had seen the army in action and seen the faults and its weaknesses. Even when simply on a march he was always at work on improving it and making sure it could perform at its best.  Age might not bite on King Eskild who was as fit as any common soldier but it did have its toll on General Ottar Vind and the Great Explorer of Oluf Skeel who both die due to old age. The Poles and Germans are quickly running out of manpower but thanks to the reforms of Eskild the armies of Skåne always have a steady supply of men to fallback on. Months of maneuvering follow in Poland no army really wanting to take the offense on the other until the rich land of Kalisz comes under threat from the 2nd Royal Army and the Imperial Army moves in for the kill.    The Long war is starting to show its toll for Skåne and the battle is lost at great expense. It becomes apparent that the Germans and Poles have adapted to the ways of his army and talks to his commanders on how to improve the situation.   Three different options are proposed. First is to recruit Skottish Pikemen from the Skottish Princes to destroy the frontlines of the enemy. The second option is to recruit German Landsknechten to fight the Imperial Army. Both solutions are cheap and would work but Eskild doubt their loyalty to the crown and he wants the war to be won by Scanian men. He proposes himself a third option that is much more ambitious and expensive. His idea is that every single regiment of the Royal Armies should have at least a third of their men with arquebuses that will fire volleys into the enemy line while being protected by a Viking shield-wall or pikes. The generals protest against the Arquebusier Infantry idea but it is the one his Majesty commands the army should adhere to.    At home improvements are done to naval technology and farming tools increasing trade and production of the Kingdom. It is also reported that the colony of Beothuk has become completely self-sustaining and some settlers have started to move to the nearby land.    From trade goods has started to flow back to the homeland mostly consisting of fish. In the war of the East the decision is made that a new Foreign Army is going to be recruited to replace the losses suffered. The Bohemian Emperor has enough and peaces out of the war against the Heathens. Shortly thereafter the Polish King also gives up and negotiate a white peace with Lietuva. It might not have been a victory that gained any land for the Kingdom but it was a war which improved the military of Skåne and launched it into a new era, that put it as the strongest army Europe and is only second to Gascone in its innovation.
