torgo posted:Here's another Texas Monthly true crime story : A Tree is Known by its Fruit This double murder was about a mile from my parent's place. This is mostly just a long sad story of a loser but there's a piece of detective work I appreciated. Detectives know that Scherer was in Primm, Nevada on March 7, 2008 -- the day of the murder -- from gas station receipts. There's also prints from a size 12 shoe at the scene -- odd because Scherer wears a 10 1/2. quote:Looking for anything to bolster his case, Nieto took a second look at those crime scene photos. Something caught his eye.

I read the currently trending article about a meat packing plant employee who had been charged with 71 murders for disappearing co-workers in the nearby rendering plant. It was an unnerving read but after a bit of research I found it was in fact a hoax and fake article. Good luck convincing the people sharing it though. There's 6 or more websites running the story, citing each other as sources, but when you get up to that many sites people believe it quicker. The picture they use is a guy that was arrested for child porn, which is about what I thought when I first saw the mugshot. Here is the article I originally read. http://worldnewsdailyreport.com/slaughterhouse-employee-accused-of-murdering-71-coworkers-over-17-years/

quote:Jeremiah Burroughs, who is a Gulf war veteran, is suspected of suffering from PTSD syndrome and of extreme paranoia, explains police officer Emet Rubbens. I don't know how that could ever be expected to pass as actual published journalism. Even at the Weekly World News they'd have known to put a comma at the end of a quote.

I know slaughterhouse safety probably isn't top notch but I feel like after the first handful of mysteriously disappearing plant workers a few eyebrows would probably be raised

James Joyce posted:You had an arse full of farts that night, darling, and I hosed them out of you, big fat fellows, long windy ones, quick little merry cracks and a lot of tiny little naughty farties ending in a long gush from your hole. It is wonderful to gently caress a farting woman when every gently caress drives one out of her. I think I would know Nora’s fart anywhere. I think I could pick hers out in a roomful of farting women. It is a rather girlish noise not like the wet windy fart which I imagine fat wives have. It is sudden and dry and dirty like what a bold girl would let off in fun in a school dormitory at night. I hope Nora will let off no end of her farts in my face so that I may know their smell also.

Air biscuits on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I smelled SBDs festering in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like a squeaker in the elevator... Time to fart and depart.

That's because a lot of the people who wrote for WWN were actual real journalists who got bored of normal journalism/couldn't find work so they decided to do satire instead. Most of the good people left in the late 90's, but for a long time it had guys writing for it who had done real world respected journalism.

That was an all right article. The "Jaws extra" theory in #1 is really, really dumb though. Even if it somehow was her, the detective work comes down to "She's a white lady! And has brown hair and a face!"

You guys didn't read very far before you decided to judge me, did you?James loving Joyce posted:I got your hot letter tonight and have been trying to picture you frigging your oval office in the closet. How do you do it? Do you stand against the wall with your hand tickling up under your clothes or do you squat down on the hole with your skirts up and your hand hard at work in through the slit of your drawers? Does it give you the horn now to poo poo? I wonder how you can do it. Do you come in the act of making GBS threads or do you frig yourself off first and then poo poo? It must be a fearfully lecherous thing to see a girl with her clothes up frigging furiously at her oval office, to see her pretty white drawers pulled open behind and her bum sticking out and a fat brown thing stuck half-way out of her hole. You say you will poo poo your drawers, dear, and let me gently caress you then. I would like to hear you poo poo them, dear, first and then gently caress you. Some night when we are somewhere in the dark and talking dirty and you feel your shite ready to fall put your arms around my neck in shame and poo poo it down softly. The sound will madden me and when I pull up your dress

So she was alive and in her home town a month before she was murdered. Could have guessed that already. Unless someone can dig up a full list of named extras for the day of the scene it tells us nothing.

Got linked to this a while back and honestly wish I hadn't read it! For those of you who are unnerved by brutal murders, disembowelment, and Florida, have at it. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/local/broward/fl-sunrise-rough-sex-killing-arrest-20150921-story.html Basically some guy in Sunrise, FL (an hour south of where I live, and a place I will happily be avoiding even more than I was before) flew into a reportedly tequila-fueled rage when his girlfriend called out her ex-husband's name during sex. And uh... did some things. I would post a more detailed summary than that but I read it a few hours ago and don't fancy reading it again.
