I had an ex where whenever we went to chinese buffet would get on me for loving the way they prepared frog's legs, all deep fried and peppery, because with the leg not chopped in half it "looked too much like a real leg".

I think it's more likely because a wing comes in two pieces that are usually separated, and one of those two pieces looks like a drumstick from a leg, just smaller. When you order wings at Buffalo Wild Wings for example, you get a mix of flat pieces and drummies, but both are still from a wing.

I once got an English menu in Germany that offered "Pig Made Miserable in Pan" and "Pig Made Miserable in Oven." No pictures though so just close your eyes and imagine I guess.
