I think we're all dealing with a lot of imperfect information - none of us know what will happen in the future. I think the best way to figure out what to do is to figure out what might actually happen if we did different things. Merk a long time ago suggested a kind of "database" of Mafia players, a kind of easily-accessible list of people who have played mafia (maybe someone who is logged as having played 5+ games), including when they were last Invited to a game, and when they last Played a game. Someone assembling that from Votefinder data (probably the easiest) would be a good thing to have regardless of the discussion threads. And, I think the first thing we should send them is a brief survey, asking them why they no longer play, and would they be interested in a (reasonably-sized) "veteran" game every few weeks/months. Okay and break.

Eh, I think that was more the post war bonding of popcon that happens with the various survivor games as well but I see your point. Anyway I think the big thing is that people were still able to play mafia games without it being a weird us and them situation.

The whole thing just seems like something that is going to escalate and lead to mods being involved and cleaning everyone out. We basically have two mafia communities going here that have minimal overlap. I read the monthly Auspol threads, but I don't bother with the crew thread.

I'd absolutely love to do it again, but making games requires so much effort that I just haven't had the energy for it. I need to sit down and mine board games and various logic games for ideas. Plus I still need to watch the last 2 seasons of The Genius to see if there's anything I can pull from that. So don't wait on me for popcon 2, which will surely fuel at least one murder/suicide.
