It would be pretty funny if Ocelot was just lying/bullshitting to BB when he said he would hypnotize himself.

My favorite part about the whole thing is how they tricked Volgin's loving spirit of vengeance-animated fiery corpse into spookin' on the wrong dude. And then they kill him and skin him for new armor for your horse. Truly, in Outer Heaven, men become demons.

Actually I think that's why The Man on Fire seems to hesitate every time he got right up in Venom's face. There were like 3 cutscenes where he has Venom dead to rights and he just looks at him, with practically the same expression Quiet often does. Like he's peering into your face because he's not sure it's really Big Boss.

Ocelot talks about supporting Venom Snake going forward and how they need to coexist. Also, when Kaz storms off from Ocelot it sounds like he has his crutch. What Big Boss does to Kaz and Venom represents a massive personal betrayal. I can't picture a world where Kaz discovers this and agrees to play his part like a good puppet. He says as much--the minute he finds out, Big Boss can go straight to hell. Kaz absolutely had to be kept in the dark for their plan to work. Presumably Ocelot only told Kaz after Venom remembered who he was and the charade could no longer continue.

Do you think Code Talker's tapes on going to a reeducation school was supposed to be a parallel with the child soldiers, since if the plan to teach them DID go through they would probably be torn from their cultural identity?

Completely. One of the things Code Talker talks about is how he was given an English name and forced to use it. One of Eli's points of angst is that he is forced to go by Eli rather than his nom-de-guerre White Mamba

I think Kaz found out after the game. There's a point at around the time Huey gets booted when he radios you and is like "wow I really went crazy with that revenge thing, sorry about that, thanks for sticking with me through it boss" and I think that leads well into him wanting to stay with Venom and being way upset at Big Boss when he finds out the truth.

Kaz's story arc is like a reverse becoming a demon. He starts out an amoral businessman and ends up creating a family so meaningful to him that loving with it enrages him. His concerns about Quiet and Huey are kinda right, both do pose a threat to Mother Base. He does the boring paperwork that makes Big Boss a legend. And when he finds out Big Boss has abandoned him and his men he turns BB's discarded family (his double and "sons") to his destruction. Then Ocelot plays him so bad he gets Liquid to kill him. Sorry Kaz, you were good, but not pretty good.

The last part of DDR is "Reintegrate", so no. They're just trying to deprogram the kids and teach them a vocation that isn't shooting mans before reintroducing them to their society. Or Kaz is, anyway. Venom is like "Welcome to Outer Heaven! Thursdays is free pizza and every Saturday we gently caress up an FOB".

What if "Liquid's Arm?!" that Ocelot had grafted on to him was never Liquid's arm, but was actually Miller's arm? Like a retro-reversal of Liquid impersonating Miller in MGS1.

Either way, badass arm.) Heavy Metal fucked around with this message at 21:32 on Sep 22, 2015 |

Does Solid Snake not know he is Big Boss's clone until MGS1? I replayed it and I think so but he is pretty aloof/doesnt seem to give a gently caress about it. Also MGS1 is really hard to play these days. Even MGS2 is a VAST improvement in controls.
