The Question IRL posted:If it's any consulation, the time Cyclops fixed Colossus head after it got dented inwards so bad he couldn't turn back to human form was in the 90's. And to fix him Moria McTagart, Beast and Charles Xavier fixed him with Surgery. Cyclops was using his Optic Blast into a machine to create the laser, so you could argue that the beam was only powering the machine. X-Cutioner slashed him with some alien scythe thing while Jason Wyngard was dying on Muir Island (90s!), and the wound sparked and glowed instead of bleeding.

Bah, when that happens you just soak it in some hot water and let the air pressure inside do the job!

As I recall it was Waid's first work back for the Big Two after the blow-up with Didio, so I'm sure he hoped he could get an ongoing off of the mini, but knew it was a longshot. Shame, because Rios' art and Waid's take on Strange were great.

"Seek your soul while I go perform surgery on the universe" is up there with "I'll do what I can to plug the hole in forever" in terms of ridiculous poo poo you'd only hear in comic books.

Everything that involves the comic entities winds up in that scale of bullshit. Reed Richards successfully argued a court case defending the right to exist of a civilisation eating entity, because he was the personified balance between life and death and so was necessary.

On a similar, albeit slightly smaller, note, She-Hulk once argued that courts have to accept testimony from ghosts because otherwise half the universes's population couldn't take the stand being as Thanos killed them all that one time.

People complain about Batman having a billion contingency plans but nothing about Punisher apparently having a black-belt in every martial art ever? E for clarification, the panels are still badass, but I can't help but notice every time someone claims they practice <martial arts here>, there's a little blurb of "That's cute, I studied that too".

Malachite_Dragon posted:People complain about Batman having a billion contingency plans but nothing about Punisher apparently having a black-belt in every martial art ever? In fairness, Frank Castle has spent 15 to 30 years (depending on your continuity/character preferences) doing two things: Killing people and training so that he can be better at killing people. Batman's infinite contingency plans are ludicrous because the time required to implement each of them would deny him time to be Bruce Wayne, have a social life, etcetera. By comparison, the Punisher has no social life or interests outside of killing people and training so that he can be better at killing people.
