Pondex posted:I blows my mind that they gave her nipples. I mean, surely several people at Jim Hensons workshop would have to have signed off on every puppet. And no one objected. They did adult stuff before they did kid stuff. Not "adult adult" but stuff for adults. Heck their first show in '75 was called "sex and violence."

I'm house sitting for my sister this week, which means I get to hang out with Mango, her weird, goofy tripod cat. She's unreasonably friendly. She will sprint towards just about anyone who walks through the door and demand affection. And, because she's missing a front leg, that sprinting is both adorable and Silent Hill-style creepy at the same time. I've been trying to get video, but she's pretty drat quick for a tripod. I have learned that she spends pretty much all her time doing the following things; Surveying her territory Sleeping near things Staring into your soul Sleeping near things after showing two seconds of vague interest in the dozens of toys she has And finding new and interesting ways to nearly fall off her cat tree

Some people find aardvarks ugly, I think they're cute as heck. There's a female aardvark called Kvida in the Prague Zoo, that had two babies that died soon after they were born, so when they announced that a third one was born I had my fingers crossed and watched the Zoo's Facebook account multiple times a day in case any news were posted. Anyway here are few photos of this story that so far has been a happy one. On the day of its birth, July 27th: Little aardvark was born underweighted and didn't suckle by itself. 5 days old: Little aardvark is quite active, and even though it still doesn't suckle it's being fed by zookeepers and is gaining weight. On the eight day, little aardvark suckled for the first time, and since then started to do so regularly. It's still also fed by keepers though and its future is not certain. Little aardvark is now about a month old and can now be seen by zoo visitors for the first time. Since zoo visitors were respectful and didn't interrupt little aardvark's development in any way, it can now be seen every day, and is doing good. Little aarvark's doing good and will be christened on September 28.

Prague zoo is really great, last year they ran a campaign around the city with posters of lots of different animals with their names so when you went to the zoo it was like going to visit your friends. My favorites are Richard the silverback gorilla and Morris the African pig This is Richard, look at the smirk he's got going on http://imgur.com/c0oqxKh BooLoo has a new favorite as of 19:20 on Sep 26, 2015 |

My grandmother had one when my sister and I were children. You could always tell when she was awake by the clattering of her claws on the tile because I'd point at my sister, Sadie would wander over to her, then she'd point back at me and she'd amble back over to me back and forth all day.
