I figured someone would enjoy this. This is my father-in-law in Fulda sometime during the late Cold War. His 1st SGT threw a track and he's not looking too happy. I'm not in the military, just married into a military family, curious as to what the symbol on the back of the vehicle is if anyone knows.

how the gently caress have we not figured out how to put a sight on a loving apache, at the most basic level of "shooting poo poo" using a grease pen makes about as much sense as only a front sight post on an m16

The -F upgrades were putting a bandaid on a sucking chest wound which is why it got cancelled...well, that and the fact that the Apache/Gray Eagle combo is way more capable than upgraded Kiowas. I was doing my thing at a recent Google/YouTube event at the European Parliament, and they were showing off 360 videos and related equipment. The rigs are basically an array of GoPros (the more the better) Why it's relevant to this thread is there's already 360 videos coming from Syria. These are the first two filmed in Syria (click and drag the move the video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTTzKwLPqFw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nxxb_7wzvJI You can also use it with the Cardboard VR sets, you just install the app, slot your smartphone into the viewer, and you've got instant cheap VR https://www.google.co.uk/get/cardboard/ I'm currently working on getting Syrian Civil Defence (the White Helmets) a rig so they can film inside Syria. Hopefully ISIS won't decide to get creative with these.
