if predators find the nest and move towards it the parents put on an act where the mom falls to the ground and pretends to have a broken wing and makes constant injury cries while the dad orbits and raises the alarm cry to help cover the act, if they dont fall for it immediately the birds move closer and cry even louder until they finally hook them, then they keep hopping in another direction until they've drawn the animal entirely away, then the mom gets up fine and dandy and just flies away and laughs at the dumb animal. if the predator hasnt found the nest but is close they do a different act where they settle down and makes motions like they are sitting and bedding in a nest on a random spot of ground, and if the predator gets close again they will jump to another location and play the act again, until it gets confused and leaves.
