The one being made now are barely making it through boot camp without falling apart. About 3 out of every 4 kids from boot camp that I've seen in the year since they made them standard issue has had to replace their boots right after MCT to avoid getting yelled at by some staff NCO for having boots that look more thrashed than the ~legit MARSOC Marines~ on station

MV-22s are on the big deck though so you will have to deal with all the big wigs and their dick measuring contests in the ward room and wait in line for hours on end if the liberty port you go to isn't big enough to moor the ship pier side.

Ball coming up, I actually knocked down and ordered a new Dress Blue coat because I'm a good 25 pounds more muscle than when I got the thing fitted. Wore it to a funeral recently and felt like I was being crushed while standing around in the sun in 90 degree weather. Forgot how expensive the poo poo is...I doubt I'll ever get the silly mess dress, but a boat cloak would be worth it just to see if the CO would tell me to take it off. Also, gently caress people who hate the Ball, it is like a free ticket to getting laid for single guys, and if you aren't single chances are the whole affair is going to get your girl super horny. I suppose it could suck if your command is dumb and doesn't know how to find a proper venue, but the 1stSgt got us a casino this year, so it is going to be awesome. If you plan on getting a boat cloak you'd better do it this year because both officer and enlisted variants are on the chopping block according to the latest uniform board results. Seeing someone actually wear one is so rare it's almost become an urban legend. I wouldn't waste the money on one now because you'd only be able to wear it once or twice.
