The bubble popping is really good for players, right? Buying a house when the prices crashed was really good if you ignored the whole inability to obtain financing part. Presumably once card prices crash, a lot of this nonsense will be comparatively more reasonable to buy?

I've just been Pucatrading to complete Pauper decks, and when I look up random Legacy or Modern cards to see if it'd be worth bothering to complete an eternal deck, I just laugh and move on to listing more Prismatic Strands.

Magic's bubble is going to collapse in a very interesting way, because so many of the driving forces behind the bubble are frighteningly irrational and/or Bitcoin true believers. It'll certainly be a fun ride, at any rate.

Best part is that it'll be happening everywhere too. Pros will be talking about it, people will be talking about in other forums, and even in this thread there are people who unironically invest in cards. It's going to be fireworks!

If you have been playing last season or drafting you should already have alot of that value.

I mean like 500 dollars of these 4/5c decks is just from Jace and running 4x of 3 fetches. The rest of each deck is pretty cheap. If you were smart last year and got your fetch playsets alot of these decks are cheap.

It amazes me how quickly these sorts of images get around after getting jpg'd. It's like there's some group of people who dedicate themselves to saving things as jpgs and then unleashing the hideous abomination upon the world.

One thing I did notice is more standard players (at least in my local/regional meta) buying/preordering way more sealed product than normal to try and get specific deck pieces as quickly as possible. That might be inflating things.

I really wouldn't worry too much about that. Xmage is just a matter of downloading it and running it and having a practice against someone else. After that you should be pretty used to things.

Yeah, I can almost guarantee after Pro Tour things are going to drop a good bit since the rush will be over at that point.

Prices are going to spike hard during and shortly after the Pro Tour as players scramble to build the lists that were in the top 8. Prices should start cooling off after that though. I plan to cash out on my collection of Standard stuff around then, it's going to be glorious.

This might be tongue-in-cheek, but I honestly think one (splash two) color decks that utilize the BfZ spell-lands are going to be a thing. It can be a huge tempo swing to just drop a Looming Spire with your 4/4 out, and suddenly, their Rhino can't block it profitably. Blighted Fen + Cataract are great for late game reach.

My experience lately has been that if you're not playing Narset, don't even both drawing an opening hand. Don't even roll for turns. Don't shuffle your deck. You know what? Just leave it in the deckbox. In fact, just stay home and cry yourself to sleep and vow to play Narset the next time.

Eh, I built a Narset deck once because I was starved for an interesting commander in her colors. She's neat until you realize that you win once by attacking with her and then never again because it's dull and people can easily and totally accidentally hate you out anyway. You're better off playing just about any other Jeskai commander for group EDH.

Bad: Buying a box just to open it.

Good: Getting an Expedition Catacombs in the box, being 2 for 2 on getting Catacomb Expeditions in a box.

Better: Have another box bought on store credit that will be used to play with friends.

Best: Both boxes were bought on store credit, so I'm always playing with house money.

It's both thrilling and terrifying.
So DeMars' deck is kind of insane if you put Hangarback in the main, which he said he wanted to do after the tournament. You suddenly have a creature you can pump and combo out with that can't die to Ultimate Price or Surge or Righteousness.

Yeah I'm loving the possibilities of this deck.

Prices are higher because WOTC thought adding dual lands to the format would help something. What it actually means is you need 10 fetchlands to play a lot of decks.

DeMars deck isn't going to be surprising anyone at this point, so I would expect to see some Ultimate Prices or even Complete Disregard floating around. Complete Disregard is actually a legit decent card at this point given the state of removal in Standard. Being castable by a lot of decks might give a few people pause, I think.

1 Tragic Arrogance

Speaking of Standard, why don't they do something with Magic Day other than make it another Standard event?
Restrict the decks to BFZ-only or do another sealed tourney or something. Every store worth its salt is running weekly Standard days as it is.

Basically nobody likes Block Constructed regardless of what block it is.

The problem with running a Sealed deck event is that you have to add another 40 minutes in for deck construction plus there's the issue of people cheating to get the promos (obviously this could occur at any Reg-REL event, but still). There's also the issue that Game Day is explicitly a Standard event.

I still don't think Virulent Plague is terribly playable; its not castable with BTL and its not hosing anything specific. I would probably add in a couple of Duress for the control matchup.

Add me to the list, at least since I started playing again around the AVR release. All it takes is patience, self control, and scoring a collection from time-to-time.
