It would be funny if both sides referred to be other as "Gauls". Frenchmen is indeed Gallaoued (a Frenchman is a Gall, although be careful because galleg is the French language and gallaoueg is gallo, the langue d'oeil from Upper Brittany, also many people say Frañsizien for French people these days) but I'm pretty sure the etymologies aren't really the same, Gall is from the proto-Germanic word walha that Wales, Wallonia, Cornwall, Wallachia, etc is from while Gaul is from a tribal name that just happened to be similar. I could be wrong though. Kurtofan posted:I hope he found his way back to his lunar colony I thought Cheminade wanted to colonize Mars.

I tried it in my native language and one of the results was actually a thing a sane person might search for: "are shops open on Sundays in Germany". Anyone have a map of countries where shops are open on Sundays?

So, this is a birthday gift I got some years ago. The top flips open and it's filled with booze. Let me take you on a tour of the Northern Hemisphere, starting with California and going east. I know it looks like it would be easier to read with better photo quality, but nope, it is impossible to read in all lighting conditions. Have fun: "Christianity was initially founded by Jesus. From the age of 30 he began to publicize the decree of go ANd Christianity became the national religion Rome in the 4th century and one of the 3 main religions today. Mohammad was born in 570 AD. At the age of 40 his life was changed. In many of the dreamlands he saw the angel. He wrote down what the angel had said which conswequently became the sacred book of Islam: "koran" This is the origin of Islam." This map is very politically loaded. Canada has lost most of its Artic islands, as have Norway and Russia. Several countries are underwater, including Togo, Malawi, Tajikistan, and much of the Philippines and Indonesia. And is Poland outlined in red? Maybe closed on sundays?

This map is wrong, Hungary and Switzerland have restrictions on Sunday shopping comparable with those of Germany. But if you correct for these mistakes, it's surprising that Hungary of all places is in the very small group of more enlightened countries, while most of the rest of the world gets it wrong.

So are shops in South Australia, though that's likely because it has the largest population of German descent of any Australian state.
