All subs get the "free" level 60 right? Will that contribute to any crazy achievements, or do you have to drag a character through the levels for them to count?

The makeb story quests also drop green gear that's pretty decent. Not that you'll need it really, since the gsi satellite and then Jesus droid in the prelude flashpoints have you covered.

Wait, are they doing the EXP boost where you only need to do story content to level right now? I did this pre-expansion but didn't make it to 50+ in time and quit. Is this still going on and if so for how long?

Once KotFE launches they're changing things so you only need to do class story and planetary story (the Rakata stuff on Tatooine, the Civil War on Alderaan etc.) It's unclear right now if this is for everyone, or just subscribers.

I wish they would keep boosted xp on until 55. Way it is planned now, there'll be a weird random grind from 50-55 before you can mainline the SoR content to 60. Maybe there'll be a reason to do ilum again!

The Makeb story gets you to 55 right now, and then some. I'm not sure if it will do it at 6x though.

Shadow of Revan is designed to get you from 55-60 including the prelude. If you don't use an XP boost and aren't in a guild, you should hit 60 on Yavin or very shortly after (maybe a round of dailies) as long as you do every side quest and bonus objective. IF you use a 25% XP boost and are in a guild with 10% XP bonus, you should hit 60 during Battle of Rishi if you're doing Rishi sidequests/bonus objectives, a bit later if you just do Rishi storyline.

I finished my agent chapter 3 at 53 and hit 55 just doing flashpoints dailies and pvp before I figured out to go to Ilum next to continue the storyline. It's not hard to level even without 12x.

Not actually story spoilers for KOTFE, but just in case: So the cartel market Akk Dog combat-only companion will have a healing mode. included in that mode is a debuff-cleaning power that involves it licking you because it just loves you so much.

The Refer-a-friend worked for the sub but is there any way to check if the exp boost is active? I can't refer others and I didn't seem to get the current sub item so I want to make sure it's giving me story exp before I start.

Sub 55 your XP bar at the bottom should be gold color and when you mouse over it it'll say that you have the XP boost. Also make sure to relaunch your client if you clicked while logged on.

Might be useful to mention the orange gear you can buy at level 7 or whatever on the fleet that lets you keep your gear up to date with the modifications vendor. Some of us returning folks weren't around for these changes, and with just doing story stuff you start to get behind on gear kind of quick! Looking forward to finally playing through some stories that I've been meaning to do but didn't want to do the extra grind to stay leveled for.

So if anyone wants to do Temple of Sacrifice tonight, I'll log on at 8 EDT. It's the final raid in the game right now and isn't too bad (except one boss) so if you're interested in seeing it tonight would be the last night it's in group finder before it becomes tough again.
