If they beat Green Bay with Rodgers playing, even if it's the one and only win they get all year, nobody will be fired because of it

Chain_of_Dogs posted:Besides next week hosting Chicago and week 16 hosting SF, what do you all think their best chance of winning is? Those are obviously the easy picks (but really, I'm of the opinion that if they're going to lose, lose them all and secure a top draft pick). Not saying they should tank, I really don't believe in that, but God drat something has to change. Honestly, I figure they'll win 4 out of the 6 remaining home games, the London game against Kansas City, and maybe an away game if something goes wrong for the other team during the season. I'm still convinced this will be just your Typical Lions-after-a-good-season Season. They'll win more games than you'd think at this point in the season, just to give the fans a fleeting sense of hope at the end, especially if they pull off some bullshit like win at Green Bay. They'll just fire Lombardi, most will think (or convince themselves) that will solve everything (it won't), cut to an 8-8 or 9-7 season next year because they get to play the AFC South, and the cycle goes on and on forever. The Lions don't get to have an historically bad season; that'd result in too much of a net positive for the fans. Misery must continue.

The Bears have beaten the Packers twice in one year only twice since Brett Favre showed up on the scene. I refuse to count how many times the Packers swept the Bears in that same time frame.

I wouldn't be super thrilled with it, but if the vikes are gonna have a lovely season that would easily be the best outcome of it. It would be better than a generic 6-10 or whatever wet fart season.

Petite Dinklage posted:Is it every NFC North Team's dream to sweep the Packers, even if it means they go 2-14? the last time the Lions won in Wisconsin on the 15th December 1991. They drafted Jason Hanson the next year, which meant he went his entire career without beating the Packers on the road. There's 11 members of the current roster, including those on IR and the practice squad who weren't even born when the Lions last won in Wisconsin, including another 10 or so who were born that year. Just let us break the loving streak then we can concentrate on what we are, a thoroughly mediocre team who will do just enough to think that hope is around the corner

This Tight End, Mike. This Guy. Used to play basketball in college. He's a big, physical guy, he can go up and bring you down some of those rebounds. When he got drafted into the National Football League, Coach said "Hey, use those big hands of yours and catch some oblate spheroids at the Tight End Position." This kid is a big fan of anime, Mike. He taught me words like desu and hentai. We watched a film together, Mike. Called it Ghost. In. The. Shell. I learned some things, Mike. Get this, the mind exists on a plane outside the physical world. Your consciousness depends on your ability to question your own consciousness. I'm talking about. Robots. With Human. Souls. Mike. I'm talking about grappling with the nature of your own existence. What are you in that interstitial space between Man and Machine, Mike? Ha, I'll tell ya, tackling with that can be tougher than tackling this big Fullback. It is Fascinating Stuff. Mike. Mike: And the pass is over to the fullback for a short gain, looks to be good enough for a First before he's brought down. That was a very hentai Catch, Mike.
