not quoting stymie but what don't you understand about free vs paid subscribers? this is exactly like a regular customer at a restaurant vs somebody with a groupon. a pretty large amount of consumers had no intention of paying for music they just got a deal and used it. the fact that they had 50% retention is pretty amazing considering the groupon restaurant conversion is like 8%

trilljester posted:SwiftKey is better than Swype, but the implementation on iOS is shoddy. 3rd party Keyboards crash apps, freeze in Messages or revert back to stock keyboard. Best stick with the stock keyboard. most of that is fixed in the 9.1 beta btw, but awful.app still crashes with 3rd party kbs when you compose replies also swiftkey is not as good at swipe typing as Swype

thread got stymied so hard. you should be embarassed, as should whoever designed the apple music interface, and as i should be for continuing to pay for it. the playlists are killer but thats literally the only feature i use. beats radio sucks rear end theres already plenty of top40 stations

I honestly have not tried the SwiftKey Flow mode. I had a hard time with getting Swype to work back when I had a lol Android phone, so I just stuck with Swiftkey.

Stymie posted:look, i'll lay it out here because you're struggling with this: apple music, like other similar services, was created with the intent that all subscribers, whether they are paying or not, have a monetized value to the service provider and, in turn, the content providers enabling the service to exist e3xcept someone who isunt paying isnt a subscriber, beucause they arent paying a subscription fee to subscribe to the paid subscription based service. they are using a free trial. for exmaple spotify only ocunts people paying their subscription as subscribers, because they udnenrstand the defintiion of the word subscriber, which you apparnetly do not. monetising unpaid users is only importnant if ur service is available permanently for free, like with spotify. if ur service is unavailable outsuide of promotional periods without paying a subscription then u only care about subscribed users and ur conversation rates, and apple musics current conversion rat eis aroudn 43%. average conversison rates 4 saas is around 25% so they're doing v weel. i hope this clears up ur issue with misunderstanding the word subscribe.
