Wrasslor Monkey, you are pretty good at that deal where you isolate an element and have it move in a still frame. Could you do that for the arm flail Reigns does after he lands?

For a dude of Roman's size that seems like a pretty good dive, and big dudes doing dives is awesome. It's no Chris Hero moonsault plancha, but what is?

That's a loving rad dive. It looks like he actually leaped out of the ring to attack his opponents, instead of doing an orchestrated backflip to get caught by a waiting partner.

The fact that he managed to clear the ropes on that is pretty fuckin incredible, honestly. That's a significant height (and distance!) to leap.

He should do more of that and less shaggy dog stories about his opponents, imo

Reigns came off strong last night, and that leap helped immensely. I thought the lack of a Shield intro was going to hurt, but Reigns and Ambrose really did a great job. I think Bray took a bump from the hit and got messed up, however. He did not look good going backstage.

UpfrontSalmon posted:Whenever Roman Reigns isn't talking he's pretty great. I think a lot of this has to do with the writers. When I see some of these guys in other things that aren't bound by a bad script, they are quick, clever and charismatic. But much of that is stifled by the things they have to say (Reigns will have the spectre of that Looney Toons promo looming over him for a long time). The unfortunate part is that the wrestlers take all the blame for the things somebody else wrote for them when it's really out of their control.

The magic beans promo is essentially a Rock promo, but Roman's delivery style doesn't lend itself to that sort of joking.

sticklefifer posted:To a degree. A truly great and charismatic talker can spin a poo poo script into gold. Roman just always seems phony on the mic, even when it's a good promo. I firmly believe The Rock could've made the magic beans promo hilarious. Now that I think about it, that could actually have been Vince testing the waters for Roman's promo ability and seeing if he could handle being the next Rock/Austin/Cena. His character shouldn't be doing those types of comedy promos regardless of whether he can pull them off or not. A promo that would work for the Rock won't work for 95% of other workers even if they're competent on the mic. If you want Reigns to do a promo keep it short, threatening and simple, like Goldberg or Lesnar. Neither of those guys are good on the mic but you believe they're going to kick someone's rear end if they threaten to.
