Length of match doesn't factor into rank points, it's win or lose with points +/- if someone has a rank way out of wack from the rest. Generally you get paired with 1 other person and then match making seems to try to combine the pairs. If that person isn't the same rank you are rolling the dice because you may end up with some crazy mismatches which can really bite you when you lose a round. Hell being S and getting matched with an a+ puts in a situation where I win 2 and lose 7 or 9. So I'll win 3 and eat one then remember how stupid it is to be doing it and quit out so I get matched proper.

So last night I had a dream that the Splatoonus tumblr posted that two new sloshers (standard deco and the variation for tri) were finally coming this friday. Kelp dome is great in rainmaker because you have a lot of paths to the goal, but on defense you do really have to mind what's going on you can't just blindly charge at the rainmaker.

People were talking about stealth earlier, and how it sometimes isn't an option. One of the best ways to win is actually to employ some Turf War and paint as much as you can. It gives your team more room and the enemy less. They still might be able to grab the rain maker or the tower or whatever, but if they try making a straight push without actually covering any ground but what's in front of them, then they're likely going to be taken out by your team, since you'll have so much more room than they will.

Area control is a really important concept you'll see a lot of in the higher level play. If you control a splat zone but they control all the ink surrounding it, you're probably not going to hold it much longer, for example, or often it's very dangerous to push the tower into a solid block of enemy ink.

I’m excited for the Octobrush Nouveau and the Neo Sploosh-O-Matic. I never see anyone talking about the sploosh, but it’s really quick at murdering people up close. Giving it some more offensive subs would be super useful. And inkzooka on an Octobrush… I’m sort of excited for the H-3 Nozzlenose D but I can never get any kills with nozzlenoses so.

The NZap is ridiculously speedy now, I bet a lot of people are going to switch. I used a double run speed build with it and dang. I'll probably still stick with my L-3 Nozzlenose though, gotta represent. Also I've been seeing a lot more Dual Squelchers/Jet Squelchers since the patch...a lot more. Like every match.
