What's the likelihood of the FBI charging Clinton with something regarding the email server? Last I heard they were just "looking into it". Edit: It appears they aren't even looking into it and are only helping with redacting emails for sensitivity. Mitt Romney fucked around with this message at 05:13 on Oct 23, 2015 |

So, uh, is it fair to say that this backfired spectacularly on the GOP? -showcased a calm cool collected Clinton under fire for a whole day, showing her as good presidential material, i.e. it's a great campaign commercial FOR her -yielded no significant "what difference does it make" gotcha moment for campaign use -fires the last limp bullets out of the Benghazi gun long before voting season -made the GOP congressional delegation look like foolish angry tools (think Bugs Bunny vs. Yosemite Sam) -possibly created some sympathy and support for Clinton among some who might have been previously inclined to vote against her Am I missing any?

The press and right wing came unhinged about that little joke. Like everything else, if she doesn't seem to take their allegations seriously, then she is either hiding something or rubbing it in their faces. If she isn't admitting wrongdoing or committing acts of self flagellation she is not only lying, she is openly mocking them. It has been said a billion times but they literally hate her and there is nothing rational about it.

It's because derision is impossible/difficult for them to deal with because so much of their validation comes from their position of power. It's just really difficult to deal with someone ridiculing you if your validation comes from acquiring power and office. You can ignore the press but when someone sits in front of you and laughs at you it's very bothersome emotionally. Actually it's bothersome to anyone emotionally to be laughed at. Given all that making fun of him for his haircut and his skull is being nice. I think whats changed in my mind after observing thst farce is I want that Clinton to spend the next 8 years destroying the Republican party, if she can scatter them to the winds when she isnt in what amounts to a trial on her status as a witch it will almost do as much good as Bernies full socialism (enacted somehow) would do if it were implimented. The difference is I can see Madame President being able to actually do damage to them of significant value in just 4 years after observing that hearing. imagine a world where the next SC justices are fair, the tea party has immolated itself and 2020 is not a gerrymandered mess because the party that would have taken most advantage of it is running scared still from the fear they concocted 20 years previously. Obama was voted for on inspiration, I will now be willing to vote for Hillary if she can teach them true resigned despair.

Yeah nothing is going to destroy the Republican's hold in Congress for a while now until demographics in the Districts they have gerrymandered change. So even if Hillary had some sort of Kill them with Barbed Remarks power you seem to think she has she isn't going to destroy the Republican Party. The First thing the Republican party will do will be to try and impeach her in her first year as president. If you think that Congress is gridlocked now wait till Hillary is in office. They'll be even more uncomprising because she is a woman and they fear women in power. Because if they compromise it's like they got beat up by a girl.

How does her supposed hatred of Republicans make her more likely to get things done? Many Democrats and people further left than Democrats hate that Congressional Democrats are all about compromise and want to extend olive branches while Republicans constantly attempt to slit their throats. Attempting to take the middle of the road and meet the GOP halfway is no longer seen by many voters as being the adult in the room. We're on Investigation #8 of Benghazi and people are eager for Democrats to call it like it is. Now, I've read about him a little, but can someone explain to me why everyone hates Sidney Blumenthal?
