I saw that Game of Thrones is being translated into Arabic and it made me wonder, in works of fiction that are translated to Arabic is "insh'allah" worked into speech to make it sound more colloquial? If so, how does that jibe with characters who are clearly worshipping non-Allah gods?

Officers above your rank are always sir/ma'am, below are usually rank and last name unless you're friends or in the Air Force. This is one of the most annoying things about watching movies when you're in the army. Nobody is going to call a major "major" as a shithead corporal, and it's glaringly obvious to anyone who knows. But so are awful movie berets.

 Our old buddy loss.jpg? It's from a boring webcomic called Ctrl+Alt+Del. The comic's about that guy rushing to the hospital to see his wife who just had a miscarriage. It was accompanied by a big wall of text by the writer justifying why they put a miscarriage in the story even though CAD is ostensibly a videogame jokes comic. Non-commissioned officers worked their say through the ranks to get where they are, so saying they work for a living is a joke at the expense of commissioned officers, who would be referred to as 'sir' generally, implying commissioned officers didn't/don't do real work like they do. Bit of a blue/white collar thing.

So if it was going full on at 1000W, it costs you $0.15/hr, or $3.60 a day. If it was just on "warm" and used 100 watts, $0.36/day. I'm curious though - What would be the benefit?

I do know after 24 hours the rice in my rice cooker gets kind of stale and I would not want to eat it plain; fried rice maybe but it really depends on how it feels like when I get to it.

Will hardware stores refuse to make a copy of a key if it says "Do Not Duplicate" on it? The obvious answer is yes, but I swear I heard that was one of those things that is just kind of ignored.

Most hardware stores won't care, and even for the ones that do, they certainly aren't going to check underneath every one of those colored key handle cover thingies. What might end up stopping you is that a lot of locks that are intended to have "do not duplicate" keys will use a weird kind of key blank that hardware stores just don't carry. I once tried to make a backup copy of the office master key and the hardware store just didn't have the right kind of blank to make one. I'm sure it's possible to find the right blanks on ebay or something, but I wasn't actually trying to do anything nefarious so I just went through building management to request another copy. Practical upshot, there may or may not be small deterrents in the way of copying one.

There is a website that has an annoying background color and I get rid of it by doing Inspect element in chrome and changing the background color from the hex value to "white" Is there an easy way to do something like that for the comedy gas chamber threads? I managed to make YOSPOS readable by injecting some javascript through greasemonkey on firefox, and I think this is a built-in feature in chrome, but it was though. You may also use Awful for example, an android app, that opens every forum with the same formating.

In the same way, you may see other people smoking and be hit by this understanding like, "Man, that would be good right now." Even if you don't feel like you need a cigarette. Alcohol is also similar that way in my experience.

But it's not obviously because I haven't had any caffeine; I have to think "I wonder why I have this headache? Hm, maybe it's a caffeine withdrawal." But speaking personally, even though I drink a lot of caffeine, I don't then feel like I want to drink any. The pain and the need to drink to caffeine aren't linked.

And if you're experiencing any stress or discomfort, you can't escape the idea that a cigarette would make you feel better (even if that often isn't true). It mostly relates to routines, "empty moments" and the like. If you could keep yourself occupied & stress-free, you'd suffer few cravings if at all. Smoking while drinking, after a meal etc. is a bit different, because then the cig is usually genuinely enjoyable, and it's more simply hedonistic - you don't need the craving to enjoy a cig while drunk.

The effects are also so obvious and consistent, unlike caffeine for which you develop a crazy tolerance, that it's pretty clear to smokers what they're feeling and why.

In my experience there's almost always a nagging feeling that I need to go do something, and it only gets worse and more oppressive the longer I go without a cigarette or some other engaging distraction. It's a nearly constant feeling that you need to find some way to get outside to have a smoke sometime in the next hour, which can get very distracting, and troublesome when you really don't have that opportunity. Really it's just an awful feeling I wouldn't wish on anyone, don't ever start smoking. Except for all the good stuff about smoking, like guaranteed social group at a bar and also it looks cool, it's the worse thing I've ever done

I think its mostly because with crops most of the crop is removed for sale/consumption. Nutrients are taken from the ground and then simply exit the system. Most of a tree remains there with only a small ratio leaving as fruit. Theres also a lot of nitrogen return from leaves that fall, and all sorts of worms and whatnot from that decomposition and shade from the tree.
