Ahh dammit. Just been sent home (woo jury service) and was excited to crack on with RE &c. but the sodding store's not updated yet. Any idea when the UK store tends to update?

PAL update (week of October 29):quote:WII U RETAIL DOWNLOADS NA update (week of October 29): quote:WII U RETAIL DOWNLOADS The Triforce Heroes demo is the same one they were distributing via codes before launch and can only be played online at specific times; the upcoming schedule is 3-5pm Fri/Sat/Sun. Human Resource Machine is by the World of Goo/Little Inferno team and it looks like a simpler take on a Zachtronics-style game. Friends of More Mineral Town is the "girl version" of the original Mineral Town game - you play as a girl and marry dudes and there are some bugfixes here and there but it's pretty much the same. Yes, you'll be able to play RE4 Wii entirely on the gamepad. Yes, you should play with wiimote/nunchuk if you can.

How is SMT Soul Hackers? I like SMT IV and Persona 3, but when I played the original SMT on iOS I had a lot of trouble with the arcane mapping and navigation--would Soul Hackers be a good fit?

It's definitely more like the first couple games. First person perspective, demons don't level up, and fusion is pretty bare-bones.

I want to highly recommend Resident Evil: Revelations. That said, if I'm not at all an Etrian Odyssey fan, but really really liked the (2D) pokemon mystery dungeons, is the Etrian Mystery Dungeon game worth getting?

Ugh I'm so torn on Devil Survivor 2. I still haven't finished Overclocked, and I know that it's going to go on sale or get a price reduction very soon. I suppose the fact is that if I get it now, it'll just go on my backlog, so I might as well just wait.

Yeah, I'd say wait--especially since Atlus games have a habit of getting $5 cheaper every few sales.

Good news: Nintendo's announced adoption of the International Age Rating Coalition of game classification seems to finally be in effect, meaning indie devs can now get their games rated for several regions at once with far less paperwork at at a fraction of the cost of doing things individually. Nintendo still has individual lotchecks and language requirements for NA/PAL regions, so it doesn't guarantee simultaneous releases for every dev or every game, but it does mean you shouldn't have to worry about devs skipping/delaying releases in your region due to the cost of age rating for that region. EDIT: for reference, it covers ESRB (North America), PEGI (Europe), USK (Germany), ACB (Australia), ClassInd (Brazil) PaletteSwappedNinja fucked around with this message at 13:07 on Oct 30, 2015 |

So is it worth it to play RE Revelations if I've never played any other games in the series? Five bucks seems like a steal, and I've heard good things about it before. E: Also should I go with 3DS or Wii U? youcallthatatwist fucked around with this message at 05:43 on Oct 31, 2015 |

The story is all over the place in the series so don't worry about it. It's not the best of the modern games but you can't go wrong at all at that price. It's fine on both so just decide between 3D vs HD. Also play 4 since that game is still amazing.

If you have a New 3DS the analog nub is treated as a Circle Pad Pro by the game so there's that.

PAL update (week of November 5):quote:WII U RETAIL DOWNLOADS Contra Advance is an adaptation of Contra 3 that replaces the overhead stages with levels from Contra Hard Corps; it's the closest we'll ever get to a legit Hard Corps re-release but it's still a sloppy port that I wouldn't recommend anyone bother with. First-party games go on sale maybe three times a year and it's usually only a few games at a time. We might get one more with the next Direct and that'll be it for a while.
