i dont really understand rugby, so when kicking down the pitch why dont rugby players always aim out of bounds to force a lineout instead of aiming for the centre and letting the other team get posession?

If they are outside their 22 and it goes out on the full, the ball goes back to where it was kicked for the line out, but if they are in the 22 it goes where the ball went out.

Which is why sometimes they kick it out, sometimes they don't.

If you just kick it out without a bounce, the ball is returned to where you kicked it and the other team get possession.

Actually, as above because of more details and poo poo.

If you're outside your 22 then the line out is where you kicked the ball from not where it goes out. Also Australian line out has been so bad they've got more chance recovering the ball from the breakdown

If you're too far down field they get a lineout from where you kicked it. Sometimes you just want to chase it.

Uhh.. did the ABs 8 just unbind and the HB threw him the ball while the scrum was still live? For no penalty.

Sometimes you just think the guy back there is really bad at catching and want to see if he'll spill it.
