unless thinness and weight are the top, top priority, i'd get this instead of a macbook 2015 just for the larger screen, faster cpu/gpu for lovely sites like youtube and facebook, a traditional usb for all your existing crap and things theyll still sell with usb3 for some time, 256gb ssd, same price point, etc http://www.apple.com/shop/product/FF840LL/A/refurbished-133-inch-macbook-pro-27ghz-dual-core-intel-i5-with-retina-display

height: 1.31 cm vs 1.8 cm
weight: 0.92 kg vs 1.58 kg

if it were 2016 or 2017 i'd probably just say get the macbook, but imo mbp13 better atm

ah yes I forget about refurbs

i wonder if apple explicitly threatens to take OSX to ARM when they negotiate with intel, or just sort of lets the implication hang in the air

not that they will actually take OSX to ARM, it seems instead like maybe they want bigass iOS devices to replace macbooks over the next 5-ish years (and leave OSX as a specialized pro thing off in it's own corner, like the mac pro is now)

oh huh i guess the refurb stores arent the same between NZ and US

the 2.5 on the nz refurb store is pretty much worse in every way from the one i linked, except in price and it having a dvd drive (if you need it)

the 2.5 doesnt have retina, doesnt have an ssd, weighs twice as much, is twice as fat, is slower, has less battery life, and will need to be replaced three years sooner than the 2.7 i linked

on the US store the 2.5 model youre looking at is $800. lol @ ur forex

and the 2.7 i linked is $1,200 vs the macbook's $1,300

do you think they threaten to do it, or do they maybe bring out a prototype and say "hey isn't this cool we got OS X working on ARM maybe we could contract you to manufacture our chip designs now about your x86 prices"

Then I expect the answer for what she's having. There's only 1 acceptable answer. Do you know what it is human being? It's Tubesteak. I love to program computer.

The issue with the greater good argument and with much
utilitarian theory is that it doesn’t take into account the individual which is
an issue, because individuals make up the many. While it may seem better or
more moral to save ten and sacrifice one this is wrong because it devalues the
individual and since we are all individuals it is the individual that is more
important than the whole in the microcosm of a car accident. Any self-wrtiting
person must always defer to the safety of the pen in the first instance,
protecting the pen and ultimately serving the greater good by protecting
all pens . Not ten or twenty but the millions of pens who exist on the planet
today. In acknowledging the value of the individual we protect the whole lest
we all become lambs to be sacrificed on the altar of artificial intelligence as
it sees fit.
