So with these streams, have they ever actually crashed? Crashing is my biggest concern. They seem to be playing pretty smoothly from what I've seen but I haven't invested as much time in watching them as some of you..

Way less than expected from an unpatched Bethesda product, for sure.

It doesn't look too bad, nothing ground-breaking but not too bad. It looks a lot like Skyrim with sensible (!) enbseries effects (like for fixing the shadows, sunrays, SSAO and stuff) and some sensible texturing mods applied, probably then not coming with the hefty perfomance hit enbseries causes. I guess for many, that it's not looking a whole lot better than that is kind of a let down in itself.

I pre-ordered FO4 through Amazon about a month ago and I got an email from them today saying they accidentally applied a Prime discount towards the pre-order, but they were going to honor it anyway. So I'm paying 49.99 for it now. Not sure if anyone else saw this.

I didn't play previous Fallouts (I hear from many that I did myself a serious injustice). I also heard that Fallout 3 no longer runs on Windows 8. Anyway, does anyone have info whether or not this will still be a fulfilling game considering I know jack poo poo about the series?

If your idea of a fulfilling game is wandering around interesting setpieces, shooting potato-headed dudes with all manner of guns, stealing literally everything that isn't nailed down, and drinking out of toilets, then yes this will be a fulfilling game for you and you don't need to know jack poo poo about any of the previous games.

Some small subset of people will play it for 400 hours, arguing they constantly find new enough things to keep them interested. Others still will play the game for <30 hours and get bored. In the middle, most users will play out the campaign and never look at it again, just like every other game in the series (or game generally). It all depends on how invested you are in the idea of post-apoc sandboxes, collecting trash from random shacks and shooting the same monsters over and over.

I can play different games for that. And the AI isn't really doing any more or less than I want it to do. So it doesn't harm the gameplay to me. Like I don't know I'd even like the game anymore if it had some great story because It'd ruin the idea I can just run off for 30 hours in the middle of it to go do open world crap and then come back to it all out of order. The stories of past fallout games were all good enough to set up a premise and a last battle and the details of the middle part are just kinda there. The AI seems like the standard "run at you" stuff that is bad for a game that was a shooter but is fine for an RPG.
