The freerunning is cool but its way too loving easy to brush up against a tree or a wall and start un-intentionally free-running and now you press space and jump off and whoops you're dead.

Especially on that redwoods map, its so easy to parkour off the trees into the open-air and you're dead and there's not much you can do about it.

I'd really prefer to have a button like, making me old down jump in order to parkour.

Yeah, this game definitely has the worst campaign of possibly any COD game in recent memory. "Shoot the base to drop its shield, then shoot it with a rocket!" (repeat 5x) (repeat encounter 9x in the camaping)

I actually like it a lot. The level design is far more open more open than any cod i can remember. This allows for a lot of options and verticality. I also really like the hub section and all the different gameplay modes, etc. Its really meaty with things to do. Regarding the story? Inno. Its a Michael bay action movie. it works. Its certainly better than MW3 which was a horrendous piece of garbage. I didnt like MW2 all that much. I did like COD4 and BO1. But im the kind of person who - with at least cod games - just wants something that feels entertaining and that works. I focus more on encounters and moment to moment gameplay. Inno. I like it. The crysis powers are fun. 13 hours with the game and i spent 40 on it on pc (which has always run fine for me btw). Id say i am happy with the purchase.

Regarding performance -
I am running a 3500k i5 with a 5 year old radeon 6950 and on mid settings. SP i get about 40. mp i get 40-60.
the ram issues seem to happen when you go with high/etra high settings.

For reference, this is the first cod game i have ever bought and i havent played any since bo2.

Introduction to Bl3ps Zombies (work in progress)

It’s time for our annual Call of Duty Zombie/Alien/Vampire/Unicorn mode debriefing! This time around, we’re given player progression very similar to multiplayer. As for the on-disc map, it plays out like a mixture of the Blop2 DLC maps: Mob of the Dead & Origins. We also get one of the best returning maps as day-one DLC, The Giant.

Player XP

You get Zombies Player XP for doing anything in a Zombies game just like you get Multiplayer Player XP by doing anything in a Multiplayer game. You will notice XP numbers popping up when you survive rounds (increasingly) and make purchases (guns/perks/barriers). As your player levels up, you unlock weapons in your Zombies Gun Kit. You can level up faster by completing Zombies Challenges, just like in multiplayer. Once you complete level 35, you can Zombie Prestige and start over!

Gun Kit and Gun XP

For the first time in CoD horde mode history, you can customize your weapons! Customization includes camo, paintjobs, optics, and up to 5 (five) attachments. The optics and attachments available for a gun are determined by the individual gun’s XP level. Gun levels max out when they have no more optics or attachments to unlock (KN is maxed at level 14). You can only start earning XP toward a gun after you’ve unlocked that gun through your Zombie Player level. This is slightly misleading because you can still earn camos for a gun whether it is unlocked or not since it’s done through player challenges.

Keep this in mind when choosing a weapon in-game! At level 1, the only weapon you have unlocked is the bowie knife (and you can only add camo to it). The Vesper is a level 3(?) unlock and can be purchased off of the wall in-game, so I would recommend leveling it up early. The KN unlocks at player level 7 and it an awesome wall gun. I tend to apply an obnoxiously bright camo to all of my unlocked guns so that I can easily identify them in-game.

P.S. The Locus has an iron sight attachment at gun level 5!

That's all I feel like writing today. I'll continue to edit this post with more sections as I complete them. Feel free to ask questions in the meantime.

How do I access The Giant? I don't seem to have that map.

And if somebody wants to do a writeup of all the interactive bullshit in the zombies mode, what all gobblegum and random guns and plants and the beast mode and the summoning run and poo poo like that do, that'd be great. I keep hopping into public games and everybody just does their own thing running around like chickens with their heads cut off so we don't accomplish much.

I guess I should start a solo game and work my way through the waves slowly to get my bearings...

Yeah I've jumped into a few public games and it's hard to know what to do with all the weird beast stuff. I also don't think I've had a random group where 1 person didn't quit immediately and I've never been in a team that survived past round 7. It seems kind of fun, but I'm not entirely sure where I need to be going or what I need to be doing in beast mode.

I found a rift that led to a room with a ton of zombie spawns, some apparently unusable cuthulu themed machinery stuff in beast-mode-breakable boxes and a perk machine (Widows something?) That cost 4-goddamn-thousand.

As for the bubble gum you can only have one going at any time, so don't shovel money into the gum machine. Of the default gum the two best ones seem to the 10s of zombie indifference or the one that makes it so you don't have to reload.

There's so much going on it seems a bit stupid to just dump players into it without any explanation at all. :v:

Like what even is beast mode? Near as I can tell its a pickup that only one player gets, first-come-first-served at the start of the match. From then on only that player can open certain boxes. You turn into a cthulhu monster sometimes also. Can you control it? Does it help you fight? No loving idea.

The whole idea of a "only one person gets this, first one to grab it" item is loving moronic for a game like COD. Why on earth???

No clue what the summoning key / rune thing is about. That seems like all 4 players get it as soon as one picks it up? Why does the best thing not work that way? No idea.

So like standard zombies mode, you shoot zombies and you can rebuild barriers and you can spend money from kills to open up paths and buy guns. Okay. I've played Zombies before.

But there are so many possible branching paths on this map... which direction should you go first? How many waves should you wait before you open up the paths? No idea, but it seems like literally everybody I'm playing this with has no loving clue what they're doing.

Seriously Treyarch put out a little loving guide for this mode on your website or something.

No, any person can use the beast at any point if it's charged (notice the blue tribal beast's paw on your hud, that's your beast charge) Any of the goblets around the map can be used, I think only once per wave, maybe only one person can go beast per wave, I dunno. You can use the electric attack to stun zombies or charge the power boxes for perk machines. The melee can bust boxes or zombie faces.

The guides you're looking for are maps on the walls in-game, apply style Sherlock holmesing and then who knows. I'm still tracking down all the ritual pieces.

As for the route, so far I hold the first area to the end of wave 4, hold wave 5 at the gum machine/shotgun door then make a line for the mystery box during hell bees.

Then I die on wave 7, every time.

It's too connection reliant. In theory it kills in one shot while ADS, always.

In practice, it generates one hitmarker while ADS, always.

Watch the killcam and you didn't even hit them.

Seriously Treyarch put out a little loving guide for this mode on your website or something.

Every person can become Beast once per round, and each blue thing also only works once per round.

In Beast mode you can break special boxes, break open chained dooors/boxes, and zap power supplies, and grapple up to different areas of the map that you can't walk to. There are also grapple points that don't really do anything. and I have not Idea what the statues of Cthulhu do. I think all of the chained doors lead to a rift that takes you underneath the map except for the first area where you spawn.

Widows wine causes a spider web to shoot out around you when you get hit and freezes the zombies into place for a few seconds. That, Mule kick and quick revive seem to be the only upgrades that spawn in the same spot every time.

The summoning key and the other poo poo allow you to open the pack a punch room, but I don't know how that works yet. Once someone picks up one of those they count for everyone.

There are 4 fumigators around the map for everyone to pick up and they allow you to harvest those plants, which seem like lovely mystery boxes. Grenades, zombies, flying bullshit monsters, and guns will pop out of those with no rhyme or reason.
