Under it. There's a 0pt Gozanti only docking clamp upgrade that allows it to attach x4 TIES of whatever type (as long as they're Fighter, Interceptor, Adv or Bomber) and they all have to be the same type, so you can't go clamping one of each under the carrier.

I think you could get some mileage out of pulling a Scum and Villainy and giving new Scum titles and upgrades to something like the Rebel Transport.

The Wild Karrde is about as big as the Tantive IV and would probably fit the bill :allears:

It would be cool as hell but I honestly don't see The Wild Karrde or Talon Karrde himself making it into X-Wing. If I'm wrong, cool. Seems like with TFA and Disney putting the Thrawn Trilogy and most post-RotJ EU material into the Legends bin it'll be unlikely. Until they rework Karrde or other elements from Thrawn into the new EU somehow, like through Rebels or Rogue One or something.

X-Wing is already swimming in the EU though. I mean, Disney greenlit the K-Wing and only super hardcore Star Wars nerds know what that is without a Google search. You can team Prince Xizor up with the Hound's Tooth and fight Dash Render and Corran Horn. The EU being in the Legends bin hasn't stopped Disney from letting FFG monetize it, all it means is that the X-Wing minis game isn't canon compliant.

I know. I'm not saying I'm right, I'm just saying I think it's likely going forward the source material that FFG look to for their expansions will probably stay within boundaries put in place due to the new movies and content coming out. You can already see that influence in Wave 8 with the original announcement for it not including the T-70 or TIE/FO until after they officially unveiled the TFA Core just around Star Wars Day. 4 out of the 6 of those planned ships not including the Gozanti pull from the new EU.

Then that would basically put an end to X-Wing unless Disney plans on shoving several dozen new ships into their movies for FFG to make ongoing waves of releases out of. Like yeah, I get that Episode 7 isn't out yet but so far of the ships that have been shown, two are already in the game and one is a new shuttle. That's not really enough to sustain a game on when you're releasing, what, a dozen or so new models every year?

The Star Jewel . They already have Kyle Katarn's ship. It'd open up Jabba as a pilot and Bib Fortuna as a crew. It'd be awesome.

There is no reason at all to believe this. The TIE Punisher and K-wing just released (not to mention all of scum besides Y-wings and Slave 1). T-70 and TIE F/O obviously were held back because of the force friday nda.

Edit: not to mention how absolutely packed with EU the LCG and RPG are. Talon Karrde has been in the LCG awhile.

Ya well I mean, for six or whatever months after release the game only had what? 4 fighters total for Rebs and Imps? Then about that long until they put out Wave 2 to increase that number to six distinctive ships per side. Seven more months before they put out two more for each faction in Wave 3. Even longer until Wave 4 was on the shelf. Not too many ships get introduced per wave a year. The exception being the jump in the amount of ships they released when Scum and Villainy arrived on the scene and that made sense because FFG needed to flesh out a whole new faction.

I could see them putting out 1-2 ships per faction pulling solely from new canon material every 6-7 months for a while.

What ships from the new canon, though? That's the problem with this idea, it relies on Disney creating 1-2 "new canon" ships per faction every 6-7 months for this suggestion of yours to be viable and so far there's no indication that Disney is about to go on a new ship creation spree. Star Wars: Rebels has already been thoroughly mined of its current ship offerings for Wave 8, and while it's possible that Disney is keeping a super-huge space battle with a dozen new fighters and poo poo under wraps for Episode 7, all signs point to T-70s and TIE/fo's being the only real new ships of note coming out of that movie. And yes, they're making more movies, but again if those movies don't come with all sorts of brand new ships for FFG to pillage then they're going to quickly run dry, especially since Disney isn't to the best of my knowledge releasing a new Star Wars movie every 6-7 months.

Also Disney has known about their Episode 7 and beyond plans ever since they bought the franchise, they didn't just go for it to have ILM in their pocket. They've had ample time to tell FFG "hey actually we'd rather you not make a big Star Wars branded game slathered in the old EU that we're distancing ourselves from, thanks" but from all accounts the relationship between Disney and FFG is as cordial as it gets between licensor and licensee.

Outside of the special forces TIE, the shuttle and the escort ships I honestly have no clue what other fighters could be included but those ships would only need to pop up on screen or in the background for a second or two because that's all Star Wars needs.

Just the ones we know about alone from trailers and merch could account for 2 - 3 expansions for just First Order and I know that's not a lot.

Rogue One is December 2016, so for my dumb theory to hold there would have to be a bunch of new ships popping up next to all the oldies and Rebels is a good example that it's within their ability to create "older" ships and place them into the mythology catalog.

That's a distinct possibility but I have a feeling that if FFG really wanted to mine the prequels that they probably would have done so by now, it's not like anything's been stopping them.

Mara Jade and Ysanne Isard are both cards, and Emperor's Hand stuff (and Jade herself) were really fleshed out initially during the Thrawn trilogy, so odds aren't the worst.

I expect FFG is holding a Grand Admiral Thrawn commander in reserve for a future Armada wave, it seems too obvious for them to pass the opportunity up.

But seriously, there's no indication that Disney is planning on getting draconian with FFG's use of the old EU and while they have the capacity to draw from the prequels it seems pretty obvious that someone high up the Fantasy Flight chain doesn't think prequel stuff is an avenue worth pursuing at this time. It's not just X-Wing, notice that they aren't putting out any Clone Wars era boardgames, nothing for the minis games, the LCG is all original trilogy and some EU stuff, etc. I think the RPG is the one line of theirs that really even mentions the prequels at all, and even there the focus is clearly on the original trilogy stuff. I'm guessing that if they were feeling pressured by Disney that they'd have started testing the waters on Clone Wars/Old Republic stuff by now.
