I still need 3 teams to volunteer to go no-DH. Not that it's immediately relevant. But I don't want anyone to build their roster with the assumption they'll have a DH and then get moved. That would be rude!Ice To Meet You posted:DH Preference, or in DH league

To reiterate for the new page: The Dispersal Draft has started! mooseontheloose and the Commonwealth Flying Dukaki are up! There is a 24 hour window in which you can make your pick, then you will be skipped - you can still make your pick, but the ones after you might have picked before you, so make it quick! The lists are not fully sorted yet, but it's not really important when you're just going to be picking Babe Ruth / Ty Cobb / Pete Alexander / etc. in the first round. Monathin, tell us who won the postseason pick'em! TheMcD fucked around with this message at 23:51 on Nov 19, 2015 |

So I've been offered a revamped infield and a really nice outfielder plus some later picks for this pick. And I was thinking, maybe I'd take a Babe Ruth or a Pete Alexander, but I've got enough holes in my team that several really good players might still be a better choice than one phenomenal one, so I'm leaning towards taking the offer. Why am I telling you all this? Because it's possible that one of you will have an even better offer for me. I'm listening.

I'm kicking the tires on this one, but I am potentially willing to deal star SP Hilton Smith for a first round pick if one of the players I'm interested in is available. I have other players for later picks if you're interested. There are a few that are untouchable as of right now, though. The spreadsheet, if anyone is interested in some of the players listed!

Charlie Root ('32), who dominated the Sub-Par League last season, would be available for a late first round pick. I might be pursuaded to take other forms of compensation, I guess

I have two proposals: 1) just pick the Ruth now and then talk trade; then the draft can continue and you can field trade offers without any time constraints 2) Trade Ruth to the Mexicutioners. They don't have the depth to offer you a Baseball Mogul Trade AI special with 17 pieces, but they do have the ability to give you Ted Williams (clearly better than Ruth, just look at this draft! ) plus a solid dude to fill out your rotation. Or if you want slightly more depth, they could offer one of their two really good 2Bs, a lesser OF, and maybe a small piece (4th rounder, rando deadballer, even lesser OF). They've also got a 1st-round SD pick to play with.

We may not know what he can actually do.

Yeah, if I was running a Super-League quality team already then that'd be one thing, but taking a terrible team and adding some good draft picks isn't enough to keep them out of the Gauntlet - just ask the Murphs - so several good players rather than one excellent one seemed the wiser plan to me.
