I'm assuming you lot are on the US servers, otherwise I've just sent invites to two randoms. Ephphatha#6771 is me. Also CT that sounds like a hilarious conversation to have to have. Sometimes I think it'd be more interesting to work on the network or sysop side of things, the most interesting poo poo I tend to encounter as a programmer is poo poo code from ex-staff members or stuff I wrote ~6 months ago...

It was. And a nice change from hammering idiots for their work porn habits. TBH most of the time it's not interesting and sometimes seriously disturbing. When you see the CEO's kiddy fiddling download logs...... That was before mandatory reporting, but maaaaan that was an awkward conversation with the company owner. "Hey dude, your CEO is a sick piece of poo poo, here's the evidence..... yes that is indeed a picture we found on his PC of a toddler with a dick up it's rear end". Not even the worst thing we found. So yeah, eplaining ASMR to a company director in between laughter and "Wow, that's a hell of a rack.... seriously? A ear exam roleplay??? WTF???" was a pretty good day. Still mind boggling it's as popular as it is, but eh for once it's harmless and even a bit charming and they seem to be having fun. I can think of way worse things to pollute the Internet.

Ryan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7y0iEQ_4iE Evil Needle started his set with this which is a flip of the Final Fantasy fanfare music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJ_G26PyV1k You can tell a Needle track because of the synths... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1zxVo9ITsQ I'm happy the venue's sound dude was good because he tweaked the PA to perfection, it was pretty drat clean sounding for a setup in a brick bunker. So rare for people to give a gently caress about anything other than outright volume.

hi AI. Back at my old house picking up boxes. Just going to chill, drink some, sleep on the floor, enjoy the internet (no phone or internet at the new place until next week). Speed read the chat thread, meatpimp is right ya'll (sr71 stuff is cool, I never torque sparkplugs). Good grill stuff, poo poo ticket stuff. Looking at getting a grill myself, I wasn't going to as moving costs so much, but a local shop has a 4 burner with hood and side wok burner for $299, $500 off normal price. Scalpers suck, but the system supports it - probably because they earn bragging rights when tickets are sold quickly, or just don't care, a buy is a buy. Then I read some poo poo about religion - so I marked as thread as read and started this reply - so I skipped anything after, holy poo poo trackpad chat was bad enough. Thanks for the birthday wishes 88. Now going to sort, box and load some poo poo and drink some while internetting some troubleshooting at the new place (retic sprinkler system doesn't work, alarm doesn't work, the bizarre 4 way manifold for bath tap/showerhead/hot/cold doesn't work right e: it's not a tap, just something like a joystick sticking outwards to switch over and you can move it all around like an analogue joystick!) Weather chat, last week was in the high 20Cs, moving weekend was motherfucking 36C, now it's going to be a nice balmy perfect 28-30C all week. I personally hate anything over 30C. Once the ambient is near body temp, it sucks.

It was totally -1 this morning and I cycled to work in shorts because I'm loving SOLID. OR alternatively because I moved house at the back end of summer and have no idea where my cold weather clothing is and therefore had no choice.Fo3 posted:Now going to sort, box and load some poo poo and drink some while internetting some troubleshooting at the new place (retic sprinkler system doesn't work, alarm doesn't work, the bizarre 4 way manifold for bath tap/showerhead/hot/cold doesn't work right e: it's not a tap, just something like a joystick sticking outwards to switch over and you can move it all around like an analogue joystick!) ...this sounds fun.

Planned on having the lift installed by now but between other expenses, being too busy/lazy and still not being 100% sure it will fit I haven't even ordered it yet. Guess I'll see if any of the places do Black Friday specials on lifts. Might just park them three wide for the winter and deal with it in the spring...math says they would fit. We might be in for a lovely winter this year. Last year we had a couple weeks in the upper 20's (F) and one where it got below 20, this morning was 25f. The low 40's weather yesterday was perfect for working outside and doing more fall cleanup junk.

Tracking down an oil leak in the SRT-4. Looks like it's either the feed or drain line on the turbo. Go to take off the intake tube to get a better look and it disintegrates. Well gently caress. I have like 8 billion errands I need to run. I call around to find a local cheap short ram intake or another stock box which good loving luck on a limited run 12 year old car that everyone modded to hell and back. Rush off to Home Depot to buy drying ducting. I can't find anything less than 4" and there's no way it'll compress to the microscopic size of the stock SRT-4 turbo inlet. Did this instead: 2 layers pre-trim. I felt so god drat dirty doing this. One pants making GBS threads test drive later (which I have to admit sounded cool as gently caress) all of my aforementioned errands evaporated and a guy who I haven't talked to in 8 years came through with a brand new stock intake assembly (literally every piece) for $50. I still need to figure out the leak but that's one crisis solved. It's either the crush washers on the feed line or the gasket on the drain which I have to drop the god awful charge pipe from under the car to reach. On the bright side the compressor inlet is still sparkling clean and even after 160k miles there is zero shaft play. Naturally I wake up Sunday with the worst head cold I've ever had so there's that. We got a beautiful 14 inches of snow here in mid Michigan and it reminded me that I still need to take the mower off of the tractor and put the blade on. Also, that I need to fix the glow plugs on the tractor because while I can get it to start in the summer and fall to cut the grass, it will not start in the winter now matter how many times i whisper "please please please" into the little Kubota's ear. This is all my fault.

Does anyone use a magnetic block heater? My dad has a bunch of equipment with no/not working block heaters and I've had my eye on this guy for a while. Last year we had a torpedo heater sitting on a stack of empty five gallon hydraulic fluid pails pointed at an open engine bay to get something started.

Best options for storing my extra wheels and tire set? I've been using the plastic bags Tire Barn wrapped them in when I had them mount the winters a few years back but those are pretty close to junk, looking for something that won't rip and tear easily.

How cold does it get where you are? I know people who use those for their lawn tractors/etc. that they plow with up here, and apparently they're okay to about -20C, but below that, they just don't seem to cut it. Not sure of the exact models, etc, but they do work, maybe just not extremely well.

I just use large garbage bags, and a liberal application of 303 aerospace protector to the rubber before tying the bag shut. Store in dark place (indoor preferred, but gently caress toting tires up and down a flight of stairs to the basement twice a year) Deflate to ~8-10psi, reinflate when taking out of storage. Tires come out nice and supple next year, and garbage bags are cheap.
