So I saw a stream the other day and a guy decided he didn't want to fight some crab monsters on the beach...and he just walked through them. He literally clipped straight through them like they were ghosts. I can understand clipping through cars in new LA because they are basically just window dressing...but walking straight through monsters?

i saw a guy try to run through one of the huge dinosaur-looking things and get kicked ten feet in the air for his trouble. i guess it's inconsistent.

Others will attack when they 'sense' you ie. get close.

It's good to know that you can't just walk through those huge ones at least. I'm still on the fence about buying this - does anyone know if there is any sort of 'life' to the world, like the random encounters (prisoner patrols, messengers etc), or monster vs monster action you could stumble across in Skyrim. Or is it just mobs milling around waiting for you to aggro them? I don't know how I feel about a huge world to explore if there are no towns, and just mile after mile of monsters doing nothing....

A cave might be full of aggressive monsters during the night, but when it's day the cave is empty because they've all left.

Eh, it's mostly true. Nintendo has dropped the ball this year on exclusives. It's hard to top what they launched last year though, they straight up won 2014.

I would not be surprised if XBX falls under the same issue. But hey there's always digital

It's not been a complete desert of Nintendo releases

2015 hasn't been the strongest year for Nintendo, but p much everyone fell in love with Super Mario Maker so even though there have been less releases they will probably sweep this year too.

Well this isn't like the original Xenoblade as there isn't much story to spoil outside of a setting that is focused entirely on you making you wander around a single player MMO in with a car robot.
|
# ? Nov 23, 2015 16:35 |

Well Xenoblade 1 was pretty long too and it had huge, early game spoilers that people tripped themselves over to keep hidden slash reveal.
|
# ? Nov 23, 2015 16:36 |

Yeah, XBX's story is nowhere near the adventure that XB's was and combine it with it being a cult game there's not gonna be much to really spoil. All of the big story beats are p much just at the end of the game.

This game has some pretty big spoilers in it too, and I wound up learning them while watching some streams shortly after the game's Japanese launch. Whoops! Oh well. The funny thing is that for the longest time, I knew what was probably the game's biggest spoiler, and I've seen the final boss being fought, but I don't know things like "so what the hell do the classes do." Which was the information I really wanted. I know that you have Fighty, Rogue, and Caster, and Fighty becomes More Fighty or Tanky, and Rogue becomes More Rogue and something with spears and snipers, and Casty becomes More Casty and something with loving laser swords. But beyond that? I guess I'll wait a couple of weeks and find out anyway.
