http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=397962902quote:1996 Chevy Cavalier turbo nitrous wide body show car, street legal, 2.2 liter 4 cylinder turbo engine puts out 320hp with 30% NOS boost. This car has over $80,000 in parts and labor into it. This car has won over 25 competitions in the last 10 years and more than $10,000 in prize money. This car is very fast. Furious 7 type fast. Speedometer taps out at 115 MPH radar tested at 160hp with 30%NOS. Must see to appreciate all the fine details behind this incredible car. The chassis has 188K miles on it but everything else is custom and upgraded. No rust anyplace. Engine has 2500 miles on it. Car was owned by my father-in-law and he is a mechanic. This started out as his sons car and dad took it over when son ran into some legal trouble and needed money. Father in law has owned this and showed it all over the country for the past 10 years. You could use this to make money at car shows while traveling or just as a normal car that looks incredible and blows everything in its class out of the water. Call with questions but truthfully you have to look at this to feel the furious power. 717-823-3677. This is a steal at $8900

With the "pancake" style engines you'd find in type 3's & 4's, the cooling fan is moved down to the crank and the engine tins don't rise up past the height of the rear wheels.

Yeah that was definitely Craigslist Gold. Craigslist Gold has a duality aspect to its nature. Either extremly awful or extremely awesome. And some things are so extremely awful that wrap back around to awesome.

Starting in 1990, they also came out with turbocharged 660 cc engines. While they only made 64 hp, (which may be a conservative number since 64 hp is the new legal power limit for kei cars) the engine is apparently stout enough to make 120 hp with just a turbo kit and retune but otherwise stock internals.
