Yeah, it was the stuff about her kids and the outright sexism that was beyond the pale, and if the rightwing had just stuck to responding to that with outrage then they would have honestly had the moral high ground, but they just couldn't help themselves. I think the worst was still the right's/media's attempts to use the left's complaints about their poor treatment of Chelsea as some big gotcha when people started ragging on the Bush twins as though there's no difference between a 12 year old and an 19 year old when it comes to public life.

Huh, I'd never expected Gary McCoy to call for a world government. Or maybe he's just suggesting for Stone Golem Lincoln to lead United States in a global war of conquest. I mean, it wouldn't be the dumbest cartoon he's made.

Stone Golem Lincoln would but he was reduced to just a head and ended up getting married and expecting kids so he's kinda got his plate filled. You could always ask Sam and Max to do it, Max was President for a while.

Johnny Walker posted:I'm no historian, but I don't remember Lincoln being all gung-ho about going to war. He wasn't. Lincoln searched for any way to avoid bloodshed even before taking office and tried his damnedest to avoid war. Indeed, if you want to go further you can as Paul Escott argues in What Shall We Do with the Negro: Lincoln, White Racism, and Civil War America that throughout the secession crisis and even well into the war itself he was far too willing to accommodate white southerners' reentry into the union at the expense of black slaves/freedmen. I personally think Escott's got a chip on his shoulder and his research leans far, far too heavily on the undocumented conversations that took place at the Hampton Roads Conference in early 1865, the only accounts for which being written years after the war and coming from the Confederate commissioners, including notorious liar and all-around shitbag Alexander Stephens (who wrote his account as part of his self-justifying campaign to prove that, wouldn't you just know it, it turns out the war was really all about abstract points of constitutionality and the South was 100% right to do what it did and no slavery had nothing to do with it when did I ever say anything like that?). For all that, Escott's problem is going too far, not raising the issue of Lincoln's reluctant abolitionism in the first place.

I've said it in multiple webcomics threads: Diaz would be good if he got a writer who wasn't as stuck up his own rear end as he is, but he will never get a writer because he is too stuck up his own rear end to admit he needs one I mean, he also can't storyboard for poo poo though so
