Good luck finding anybody to fight with that player limit. They should have hired a couple of people with a clue with all that esports money.

Visidan posted:Probably not. Yeah probably. I'm not great at getting together with a group in wvw. Sadly I tend to end up roaming alone, enjoying the neat map and then dying to a zerg and having to spend 15 minutes walking back. Wvw is just better in a group. You know what else is better in a group? SPvP! What with the new season going down and the spvp reward bonuses alight, I'm sure you all are super interested in trying out some good old fashioned pvp. Well sadly many of us are not the kind of person who feels like they can just jump into pvp. And if I'm wrong, prove me wrong! If I'm right, I'll prove myself wrong! There is no reason to be shy, and if you're thinking you aren't good enough to do competitive spvp well then neither am I Ok so in short I've been put in charge of UNTZ team red, which is the color of love, go faster stripes and ketchup. This tourney, UNTZ is doing something cool for getting dudes together for spvp. Dorkopotamis posted:THE NEW PVP SEASON IS UPON US! If you are interested in having a good time in ranked arena this spvp season, or hell if you're interested in actually trying out spvp for the first time, team go faster stripes is for you. For the official tourney stuff, you need to be spvp rank 20 to join ranked arena. I don't care about that. I don't care if we get anywhere in terms of qualifications for anet. I want to have fun with goons, and chances are so do you (If you secretly want to be good/get good and win, so does everyone else so that's cool too). There is no scheduled times as of yet, as I need to see what people are interested and what times they want to set aside to spvp. If everyone who is interested is at least rank 20, we will do ranked arena. If you aren't rank 20, don't be shy. You shouldn't be left out, and there is no reason why we can't forgo trying to win when honestly getting new people into spvp is really the better choice. Think of it as extended practice. If you aren't rank 20 and want to be rank 20, well we'll get there. Send a mail ingame to "Diego Shamiano" if you're interested.

So they're just changing the grouping of wvw, not how much hp the gates can sometimes have? Last night I was in a zerg of 100 people that still took a few minutes to break some gates, and in off-peak hours it'd be nice if structure/npc health scaled down if there are only a couple people in the area

Mainly for alliances. What sucks is only 100 people from each alliance. Do they mean at any time, or is it that in the end each season will only have 300 people per alliance gaining the new rewards. I mean it's bad for wvw as a whole as people without a guild or in small guilds can't really do poo poo. Maybe layering this over the current wvw would be better. Still! Alliances? I actually think the leak is fake because of that.

You know who this has to suck for? Really big wvw guilds in the top servers and stuff. They field more than 100 people a week so they'd have to split their guild up into two or three just so all their members can play.

I used to have an account for this a long time ago but I can't remember my password and I don't have the physical game on me so I can't look up my code or whatever. I only had the base game, though. If I make a new account and buy HoT will it make me up to date or will I have to somehow buy the base game too?

Most of my time in GW2 is spent playing WvW casually in T1. The reason I like it is because its very easy to just go into WvW, join a group doing stuff, and then do stuff. That change completely removes that as an option for me, so its kind of a game breaker for me. I hope its not true, but if it is, I'll probably quit the game. Not going to melt down about it, though. I enjoyed my time in GW2 and had a lot of fun. But those changes are just not for me.

I really like the principle of those changes. Anything that makes wvw in some way consequential is alright in my book. But yes, they would utterly gently caress over some people. Particularly casual players. Again.

I suspect if they would do those changes as written there, it would probably just be the 300 vs 300 alliance in the 3 borderlands, with eternal battlegrounds being left the same, but who knows what they changed compared to the leak.

If these changes are true, that blows. I wonder what the thought process behind it was. Many servers have population issues. How can we ensure more people are in WvW during a match up? I know, let's make them create teams with a fixed number of players! Then when they sign in, they will feel obligated to play only WvW during the matchup, ensuring there are bodies in every map! But what about the casuals? Surely, they still want to experience WvW. If WvW doesn't matter to them enough to play it exclusively, they can go where the objectives don't matter either. 24/7 EoTM!

Is it just me or can Tempest keep something like an 60% up time on Magnetic Aura without even trying? Fire tree trait for 33% longer auras, Tempest tree trait for a 5 second Magnetic Aura every time you get hit under 90% HP, with a ten second cooldown. Every 10 seconds, next time you get hit you apply a 6.6s Magnetic Aura (that also gives swiftness, vigor, regen, might, and fury, if you do a Fire+Air auramancer approach). Also what are people's thoughts on the last Fire trait? Longer Fire Fields and fury on blast+fire, might on fire skill, and blind on burn are all really good. I've been using Might on fire skill to stack might to pass with the Warhorn Fire 4, but Blind on burn sounds really nice with Fire Overload, particularly for Fractals and such where damage mitigation is important. Also with 33% burn on crit, with 70% crit chance or so with Fury, that's like a solid one in four chance to blind someone on any attack, which seems pretty slick, especially with the Dagger multi-hit basic attacks. Yeah there's no point in doing Tangled Depths. Like literally none, you're never going to actually win the drat meta event until they change how it scales If you want Fulgurite you're better off doing Dragon's Stand because it's actually a map that can be won.
