Oh man. I've always liked the Cosmo. So pretty. I wish they'd do something like that again, but it would need a whole new platform.

http://www.japaneseclassicsllc.com/1990-toyota-celsior-1uz-at.html Why in the gently caress would you pay 7 grand for something that's actually available in the US for like 2-3k on a used car market?

Some people (or idiots) will pay more for RHD in a LHD market e. As crazy as that is it's a hell of a lot better deal than this http://www.japaneseclassicsllc.com/1990-nissan-skyline-gts-type-s-111815.html ee. Or this http://www.japaneseclassicsllc.com/1990-toyota-hilux-4x4-turbo-diesel.html

Turbo Helix has a value to an offroad community, look up how much US version cost, then the cost of a turbo swap. I didn't know you can have a non-turbo GTS, but that's a just sad. I guess you still have a car that nobody else has in the US. The LS400 Lexus is available for 3k on your local craigslist all day every day. But it looks like they sold at least 3, so what do I know.

Beautiful... http://www.japancaraccess.com/japanese-used-suzuki-alto--cc_2531370231.html My grandfather has the Indian equivalent of this, which was rebranded as a Maruthi. Learned how to drive stick on this thing, and it's still going strong. I'm pretty sure I could bike faster than this thing, but still so much fun romping around lovely Indian back roads avoiding cows and monkeys.

The Chinese Altos (mostly Changan Suzuki, but there was another company that made them for a while, and IIRC bought the tooling from Changan when they stopped making them...something like that) are all like base models (IIRC with 800cc engines), but they've mostly got all the geegaw from the Alto Works. Chinese Altos have constantly been in contention for the title of "world's cheapest car" for years. leica posted:Haha 9k for a 1990 four door Skyline? Yea, my mom still drives one of these and it is a terrible car in every way possible. Engine has a worthless powerband, over powered steering and brakes with no feeling, terrible clutch and super floaty suspension. My first car was a base model(no tach, just a speedo that stopped at 85 and a giant fuel gauge), 4cyl/5spd shadow and it was way better to drive than my moms car which was supposedly the fancy version.

88h88 posted:...it hasn't got a rotary so it's now a daily. Touché! I do have to consider gas mileage and having at least a little bit of trunk space, unfortunately. It did make me wonder, though, what "daily driver" can I buy for exactly $8,000? This car is too small. This car is too big (and would require a change in profession). This car requires more tattoos than I currently have. This car is until I drive it off the lot and it blows up on me.

I've noticed a fair few old 70s Rollers going for under 10k here. If I were feeling pretty dumb but posh I'd get one and drop it simply because Rolls. I would then get fingered for untold thousands in parts and repairs because Rolls.
