How does T-Hunt mode work if you're solo? Does the rest of the team fill up with AI partners, or do you have to be online and co-op?

Still on the fence about the game (PS4), but I'll probably pick it up next week. But I work third shift (EST) so I'm rarely on during the "high traffic" hours. I'd probably spend most of my time doing T-Hunt stuff after work and waiting to jump online during the one or two days I can actually play at a normal time.

IQ is really good for destroying traps and things like Jaeger's trophy systems which will zap Thatcher's grenades. If you put a silencer on her pistol you can shoot through walls and barricades and the defenders will rarely notice what's happening. AFAIK it also detects people's laser sights. If you look at a bomb or the bioweapon through a wall she'll yell out that it's there which is really useful if you didn't find it with the drones. Also her LMG owns.

You can either "Lone Wolf" mode it and try to do it all yourself, or matchmaker a team

Got it, thanks. Last couple of dumb questions for now:

1. Is it possible to lone wolf T-Hunt and do well? I'd be using it to keep from getting rusty between online sessions

2. Do you get renown and / or XP for soloing T-Hunt?

Also any decent streamers pop up for this game yet?

Kapkan traps work best when you put them on barricades far away from the objective, e.g. another floor or a room one would expect to be clear. A lot of bad players just smash through doors they believe are safe and won't see the trap until they're dead. I just got 5 kills in Chalet match this way.

Of course the real reason to use Kapkan is for his SMG, heavy armor and C4. But the traps are there and sometimes they work.

1. Yes. I've done it on realistic a few times and it's fairly easy if you cheese the AI, but you basically can't let the enemy shoot you at all and that in itself is a bit of a challenge. Some modes are much easier than others, though.

2. Yes.

If I had to list who I'd want on defense no matter the situation:

Rook, Bandit, Mute, Smoke, and Jager

On offense:

Ash, Fuze, Thatcher, Thermite, and either Blitz or Glaz

I think castle's really niche for defending upper floors to prevent thatcher from taking care of mute signals, especially in casual since you can't choose where to defend. Doc's also a good replacement for either one of those in my experience since his self resurrection dart is really buggy and can make people waste a mag dumping bullets into an immune corpse.

Those are just my personal top 5, I'm sure I'm wrong about some of them :shobon:

Can you choose which t-hunt stuff to do solo? I'm just looping through solo t-hunts and sometimes I really just want a literal terrorist hunt, not any of the other "Hey let's attract every bad guy on the map to your location at once" game.

There seems to be a really low level of control over what you get to actually do in this game, you just get to pick MP or T-hunt and difficulty and that's about it. No level choice or number of enemies or anything else like that.

In the game options under Gameplay you can turn off modes for both MP and T-Hunt. You can also weight maps, but only the modes are completely turned off/on.

If you haven't, make sure you do the Situations tutorial missions, each has three objectives to complete (One is always complete with 50+ HP) and each objective is 200 renown for a total of 600 renown plus the regular points as if you're play THunt per situation, so it's worth at least like 6000 renown in total if you complete the whole thing.

Oh yeah, so you can. I don't know if I'd call it "Matchmaking preferences" though. Also I'm pretty sure the few times I clicked that I was in-game rotation and it obviously won't let you set anything there so I'm also stupid. That's great though, thanks Orv.

Also, I just had a bomb defuse map where guys literally spawned right behind me, because the bomb was on the second floor of that place in the snow (assuming there isn't multiple maps like that) and I ran straight for the window after planting and after a moment had guys shooting at me from behind, which was just off in the trees and cars on the edge of the map. So that's a thing.

Still, now I'm running endless loops of Terrorist Hunt Classic, so what do I care.

e: No wait, no I'm not: "Terrorist Hunt is unavailable offline". That's awesome, thanks.

I've not run into latency at all personally in terms of rubberbanding or people teleporting everywhere. But there definitly can be some when it comes to shooting people. You'll very clearly get a hit and the game won't give it to you.

Edit: On another topic i'm also glad that there isn't really one specialist or weapon that is overpowered. Like was talked about before there are some more useful in general than others but nobody is really flat outuseless.

Tick rate unfortunately is not the holy grail of multiplayer issues, and packet inspection does suggest that it may not be the principal issue here.

My problem with Evolve is there were so few combinations that most matches got very stale very quick. (So far) Every match in this game feels different, and I think it really shines when you're defending and you see what tactics people employ to breach your room. As for longevity of the game, I think as long as they iron out the bugs that are causing some problems getting groups together it should be a decently successful game as long as they continue support.

True, I don't know about you but if there's a deployable shield I don't worry about destroying it because explosives are limited and I'm not going to waste it on some shield in a doorway. I can confirm we got at least one person with this trick, happened on Airplane, I set up a shield in a doorway and someone put a trap behind it (not purposely trying to deceive the opponent afaik) and it ended up getting the last kill in the round.
