Then you don't need gear. It's not like you want to gear up so you can solo flashpoints. Literally the only reason to gear past 190 is doing raids/Hard Mode flashpoints.

Which I occasionally do volunteer for, but I'd like to actually meet the gear checks and not weigh down an ops group. Decent gear masks spasticity and lack of talent :v:

Besides, I only did that for one toon specifically--my sniper main. All the others are "I NEED AS MANY OF THESE AS I CAN GET TO BUY CRATES/GIFTS".

There is no gear check for story mode operations, thanks to bolster. And each boss has a chance to drop 216 gear for each person.

The only time you'd need to worry about gear checks is Hard Mode raiding, and 208 will fail that check just like 190 will.

Agent comes off as more ruthless, but the rest of them have much rear end in a top hat potential. But yeah, Inquisitor is great for that especially.

meanwhile in this game not only can you NOT skip recruiting some, you can't airlock them once you have them either.

Or skip re-recruiting them, if you want to either get the rest of your guys back or the new guys or whatever.

I just want to be able to shelve the companions I don't want to raise influence with so I've got consistent crafting results.

It'd be super nice if we have 25 companions in 6 months for them to give a poo poo about the interface for them, but I have my doubt that it'll ever change.

Dulfy has guides up for almost every spec. I would assume Annihilation is superior in PvP just as it is in PvE due to heavy dots with Annihilate burst.

I'm just worried that from now on, every time they release some content, there will be a byline "RECRUIT # NEW COMPANIONS!" as if that's a selling point. I like having a variety as well - but I think we've swung too far into the "variety" side of things. Pre-4.0, you wanted various companions because they all did different things. I love the fact that all companions can run all roles - I think it's awesome. However, an unintended consequence of that is that past a certain point, they're superfluous. In the original game, you got to know your various companions through questing and dialogue on your ship. As off now, past the initial quest, you never interact with these new folks at all. They're just kinda there. Why should I care about Hemdil Tre or K'Krohl or Choza Raabat? They made so little an impact on me, I had to log in just to look up their names. I hope that in future chapters, BW puts in some dialogue or mini-quests for them so at least I get to know them a bit.

Yeah but when I get excited about a new companion its the story stuff. I like seeing their stories and I like seeing how they react to story missions. I care about Jaesa because I got to know the character and could see how she reacted to my choices. Take some of the returning class comps who are NOT in the main story, Talos for example. I never see how they react to how my character is different than their previous boss, and if it's my first time encountering said companion I have no idea who the hell they are. These things are important to make them more than DPS Companion 21b.

Also the fact that Alliance stuff and Influence aren't account bound given the insane grind to hit 20/50 is :psyduck:

I don't really mind all the new companions since it's more SH decoration fodder but I'd agree that I want more backstory/interaction out of them. Make me have a reason to take out one over the other besides looks, since they're mechanically the same.

On the sorting by influence thing, wasn't that something that the BW interface dude (sorry, I forget your user name) said he'd add to the to-do list?

Carnage. Fury is acceptable for regs but a good player will destroy it.

It takes nine seconds to ramp up Annihilation every time you start a target...an eternity in PvP. If you do manage to get it rolling your DoTs get cleansed and then you get chain CC'd you while all your pretty little Annihilate stacks drop off.
