The NFL sucks this year.

As we edge ever closer to the playoffs, that is the only thing that has become clear. The NFL resembles the slop you see jaded lunch ladies pour onto plates in school comedy movies. There are two really good teams (Patriots and ). There are maybe five good teams (, , , , ). Then there is a bunch of confusing nonsense (everyone else).

With this simple modification I have made your opening statement applicable to the last five-ish years and probably the near future as well. You're welcome.

Well, last year at this time we had the Patriots (ok) and Cardinals at 9-2, but also had the Broncos, Packers, Eagles, Cowboys and Bengals with 3 losses, and the Ravens, Seahawks, Chiefs, 49ers, Colts, Steelers, Lions, Chargers, and Browns (lol) at 4 losses.

So 16 teams that were at least 7-4 at this point and mostly pretty legitimate. (There were also some amazingly bad teams last year to make up for this)

This year there's 7 teams that are 7-4 or better and a whole lot of mediocre rear end teams that you go well maybe they can put stuff together and make a run, or maybe they'll lose at home to the Buccaneers by double digits. Also the Packers are the 7-4 team and who'd really be shocked if they lost to the Buccaneers right now?

Chiefs was some guy named Frank Suerer. It was 1987 but he wasn't a scab like I was originally thinking. He had 2 starts where I assume most of these stats came from, appeared in 8 games that year and one the year before where he had no stats.

pre:
G GS Cmp Att Cmp% Yds TD Int LNG Y/A Rate Sk Yds
9 2 26 55 47.3 340 0 4 33 6.2 36.9 10 82
That's almost a quarter of the yards he gained through the air given up in sacks. A fitting representative of Chiefs quarterbacking outside of Dawson/Montana really.

I thought a few of them that had 1987 listed may have been strike players, but the only one seems to be Mike Kelley for the Chargers, although for other teams it probably bumps the numbers around. Also, that someone was named Guido Merkens...

All too easy.

The amount of hate that burns in the heart of the average :patssay: is bizarre and hilarious. I knew the Pats would blow a couple dumb games late with all their injuries, and I knew people would irrationally lose their poo poo over it. Give them the slightest nudge and it's the Massholepocalypse.
