Greg seems like a real cool dude but definitely lives up to the "Old Liberal" stereotype to a tee. (Which he'd even admit to, but still). Once you realize he tells the same stories and wanks (or rages) over the same stuff he always does it gets old.

The couple of weeks delay over him talking about news stuff doesn't help either.

edit: My favorite thing was one week he read an email saying "Hey, it's great that your a feminist but stop calling all women 'girls'." to which he said "Fair enough!" then continued to do it next week (and so on).

Stopped listening to the Proopcast at least a year ago. Six months ago on Todd Glass's podcast.

Good arguments against weekly podcast schedules; I'm still subscribed to the Pod F. Tomkast after all.

For such a staunch feminist, he sure is proud of talking about his beloved movie stars from whenever the gently caress in terms of physical appearance and that being it.

And his hate-on for any modern movies, especially superheroes and blockbusters, is funny but not for the reasons he wants it to be funny.

At least his Film Club podcast is still great because he just nerds out about showbiz stories and movies he loves for 40 minutes. Really enjoyed today's Young Frankenstein ep.

Not sure if video podcasts go in here, but are people checking out Tom Green's webovision? I've watched/listened to just about all of them, really funny stuff. Brody Stevens guest hosts a lot of them, those are all awesome as well.

High and Mighty is such a beautiful awful show. Latest episode is Gabrus and Max Silvestri talking about sandwiches and eating them in a disgusting manner, interspersed with weird stories about buying sandwiches. Everyone needs to listen to this show, it's fascinating.

I held off listening to it until after I ate a reuben for lunch, assuming they'd talk about it. I should've had a Italian sub :(

Yeah, he's so enthusiastic about this stuff, and constantly funny about it. I don't want Gabrus to ever start exercising. I disagree re: tomatoes though. Even Subway industrial-grade tomatoes are usually acceptable to me, and I know the difference between them and a wonderful fresh tomato. That is, I've had bad tomatoes, but I don't see them appearing so much anymore, even in the most strained tomato supply lines.

I have a hard time seeing him last another ten years with the way he lives his life on the podcast, at the very best he'll turn in to a giant fat gross Italian guy in front of a bodega.

True. When he says he's 80lbs overweight, he means he needs to drop 80lbs to be considered "TV Fat" by casting agents, not to be a healthy man.

It's also slightly unsettling the amount he bonds with other people about these weird things like shame eating a sandwich over a sink, or how everyone in the Long Island episode started reminiscing about burning things as a kid so joyfully.

I know some people have been kinda put off by Griffin using analogues to modern-day stuff like elevators, cars, and Costco, but if it results in stuff like this, I don't understand why stuff like that would make it any less enjoyable.

Sandwich-chat is not nearly as bad as the Taco Bell-chat

And definitely less disturbing than the gambling-chat

The Adventure Zone is a D&D podcast done by the brothers from the comedy advice podcast My Brother, My Brother and Me [SA Discussion Thread here] and their dad. It's incredibly funny, but also very fast and loose with the rules. Not so much as to be inherently game breaking, but at least in a way to get some D&D nerds riled.

It's hilarious and great.

Started off with a train wreck of technical problems, Dave was text message fighting with someone DURING the show, things still seem a little awkward between Dave and Greg, Greg went on a long tangent about how he wanted to call two guys with their assholes stuck together a "dollhouse", and I ended the show being a little worried about Greg's wellbeing since he's back on pain meds for his treatment.

A+ Walking the Room episode.

I agree with the sentiment that's it's pointless and a jerk move to do any kind of pressuring or insisting that people drink at a party or bar, but in a power hour context he deserved more poo poo than he got.

The last week or two have been the worst for my list of podcasts. Following the success of their patreon, UYD has been lighter on new episodes than ever. Ari Shaffir has stopped doing regular episodes of Skeptic Tank. Fatman on Batman skipped a week, and the Penny Arcade DLC podcast skipped two. Worst of all is Brian Posehn's Nerd Poker ended this week, albeit with an outstanding final episode.

That's like 2/3rds of my weekly shows missing with a quarter of them just ending indefinitely. :qq:

At least WHM has had a packed couple of weeks.

The most recent Race Wars with Tracy Morgan as the guest is amazing.

Tracy does a '...so you got my emails' joke that gets a bigger laugh than Sherrod's ever gotten in the past year of RW. It made me realize Sherrod has been doing a terrible Tracy impression all along

Also occasional co-host Lisa Ann is the female pornstar version of Sherrod.
