I've only read through half of One Piece (up through Enies Lobby), but I don't think it's all that fan-servicey. Not close to Fairy Tail anyways... I've never really noticed clothes ripping off. As far as the female anatomy goes, I think it's just the art style. I do enjoy reading the SBS's and how Oda plays off some of the ridiculous questions. The most recent one I read had a question concerning Robin's devil fruit power in relation to her boobs.

Yeah Robin is about to get a nose job, some skin bleaching, and lose a lot of her style. Meanwhile all the other women are going to begin to look more and more like Nami. Also Nami and Robin gonna get huge titty increases. Still, the manga itself doesn't really got that far into explicit fan service outside the general skimpiness of women's clothing. The anime on the other hand will learn to love the boob jiggle. I believe one of the movies actually opens with Nami's boobs jiggling with sound effects.

That was a very good chapter by Fairy Tail standards. It tied together a bunch of dangling plot points (like the Dragon Slayers all being older than they look) and resolved the fight with a genuine emotional payoff.

Good chapter. I guess that explains why Natsu and Gajeel couldn't pass through Freed's barrier back in the day given that the condition was no one over 80 years old can pass through" Mashima's obviously been planning that reveal for a while. Bit heavy on the exposition dump, but useful information nonetheless.

Despite being a massive infodump that brought together pretty much every dangling plot thread together it didn't feel that heavy. Surprising. Wonder if this means Mashima is preparing to end the manga in a year or two.

The plot has gotten way better in the last year or so, I think Mashima must have resolved whatever plot knots he had created. The problem is that retroactively making a plot like the Tartaros arc interesting is that retroactively making arcs interesting is a lovely way to construct a plotline. Also,  at the resolution of the plot being prevented by Happy.

On a more serious note, I am actually looking forward to whatever new series he makes when Fairy Tail does wrap up. He seems to be a good ideas man who just doesn't have the talent to execute them well - at least not on a weekly schedule. Whenever he takes a break and comes back after a few weeks things seem to be decent for a while as far as I can recall. So I'm interested to see what ideas he comes up with for a few story and read the first year or so of it once it starts since Fairy Tail was pretty entertaining for the first while and sporadically so since then.

It's difficult to do a shonen manga without constant threat escalation and power creep, but if he could dial it back a bit I wouldn't mind seeing stories of other guilds and general magic fights and hi-jinx.

Doesn't the latest chapter introduce a pretty major plot hole? So if END didn't start Tartaros and that was just Mard Geer being a crazy person that talked to books, how did Silver know END was a fire demon? You'd think if he knew that much he'd know END was Natsu and wouldn't have told Grey about this stuff in the first place.

Natsu, like Knuckles, can't read anyway. So it's probably just drawings of Ezra's butt and smiling happy, and then Happy scribbles in some fish. Also there are probably some plotholes but it is impossible for me to care about such in fairy tail. Does this plot even make any sense? Did anyone read Zeref proclaiming Natsu can no longer kill him and go "yes. yes of course. this is a thing that will matter."

Actually no it was good publicity as the situation was pretty much the opposite of what you just said. We knew about END before the Tartarus arc even started. END was constantly mentioned as the Master of Tartarus and the most powerful Zeref Demon. We did not know about Mard Geer who showed up about halfway through the Arc. Anyway I assume Demon Stuff will happen with Natsu should the book be opened. As Zeref did tell Mard Geer before he killed him that he was close to reviving END. Added on Zeref himself implies that END is a separate entity from Natsu even if they share the same body. (What with him telling Natsu that in the end only him or END will be able to reach him. And he is curious about which one it will be.)
