Another week, another couple Broop streams! We've been busy/sick the last couple weekends, hopefully time will permit more streaming later! Ben is still blindly playing Dark Souls 2, and after 2 streams flailing about in Shulva, we're almost done with the first DLC. I did some off-screen beefing up (mostly grabbing Flame Weapon to help our damage) and we'll take on Elana, and then do Amana (maybe the other way around if Ben wants a break). Feel free to check us out! Also, if you want even more DS2, fellow streamer Mog and I are doing an LP of it here. Edit: Well, we still couldn't get past Elana, so we progressed more in the story. Had a guy come by who played a lot of Dark Souls and helped Ben through the Crypt, so that was cool.  Playing the Crusader Kings 2 mod Warhammer: Geheimnisnacht! Last time we played as the Orks, starting out as the Foespikes and ending up as the Imgrekids. We learned that the worst enemy of any Ork is another Ork. The only thing that could stop us from growing monstrously huge was the constant infighting and the inherent chaos. Since then we've had a vote for what race to play next, and the Lizardmen have won! So we're going into the jungle, where we have to deal with snoring frogs, sacrificial wars and decadent skinks. So we played as the Domain of Itza, the First City, home to a temple devoted to one of the sleeping Slann. What I found to be very interesting about their theme and gameplay, is that only the First City of Itza was actually home to proper holdings. Two castles, two cities and one temple. Everything outside of that were just tribes. Thematically that's just cool as poo poo. The Lizardmen are incapable of recreating the city so outside of it they really are just tribals. So when we started playing, we played as Tloctsa. As a skink priest, he had a mechanic called 'Misalignment'. The greater your Misalignment, the greater the dissent amongst your vassals and soldiers. Well, Tloctsa's Misalignment was at 100%. It was a constant struggle to try and bring it down, but no matter what he'd manage to crank it right back up via events. He was just really, really bad at reading the sleeping Slann! Because he was Misaligned, he ended up having to crush three civil wars in which the vassals tried to have him replaced. During that period he still did manage to find the time to drive out the Arabyian pirates in a Holy War and conduct a successful Flower War against the Lustrian tribal Halfling, to gather slaves for a great sacrifice. Sadly he died in 2054 from old age, having reached a respectable 65. Icnoyotl, another Skink priest, was his successor, but he died a year later from a old war wound gained during one of the civil conflicts. Finally, Huaslat succeeded him, bringing much needed stability through Itza through his fantastically low Misalignment. He did have a fantastic moment where his army of 1400 Lizardmen faced 3400 human pirate Atruhayid zealots. They learned that attacking across a river into a dense Lizardmen jungle was a terrible idea, even with their numbers. Soon after, Huaslat also got to fight an army of 2000+ rampaging cold one dinosaurs! It was great! But at that point he had 4000 Lizardmen so it wasn't really much of a contest. So now the year is 2056. The Imgerkid Horde is dead and gone. The Margobid Horde rules the swamps, the White BItz rule the wastes, the Boar Eatas rule the mountain pass and the Wide Grin Goblin Horde is still the largest Horde in the world. Southern Bretonnia has collapsed into several new lesser kingdoms, which in turn has let the Green Shield Horde gobble up enough territory to triple its size now. Oh! And Kislev is completely gone, replaced by just a bunch of counties and duchies, all fighting each other and the two spooky Beastman Warherds that are hanging out in the middle of it all. One of his friends recently got him into Heroes of the Storm (and by "recently" we mean "yesterday") so we figured we'd stream some and see what everybody thought.
