I'm only now starting to really "engage" with the election season and holy poo poo the GOP elites are scared out of their wits. A recent survey found Trump doing equally well among Republican moderates, conservatives and ultra-conservatives -- basically the profile of an establishment candidate who goes on to win the nomination. The old-guard conservative papers are talking about a full-blown revolt, party implosion, etc. Outlets like NRO have woken up to discover to their horror that the Republican base has mutated into the American version of Le Pen's Front National. More thoughtful magazines like the American Conservative point out that it was outlets like NRO that planted the seed for the Trump plant to grow into the Venus flytrap that it is. 2016 is going to be interesting.
