I kind of forgot about this game since I didn't want to get worn out before the full release, but I remembered I kickstarted this thing enough to get like a character name an item put in. Did they ever put out the call for that or is that happening post-release?

I've been having a lot of success with 2 Highwaymen in the front 2 rows using Point Blank Shot. With equipment you can guarantee the front guy goes first and they just trade off slots with each other doing obscene damage to the mob in the front. Wrecked the Swine King with this setup with very little risk.

Realized I didn't have any big damage dealers for front, luckily the Highwayman just spammed his shot. In general things like Duelist Advance has made him a great buddy for teams that like to move around (especially if you have Jester in there.) Are there any tips for doing the Long maps? I see them all the time but absolutely hate doing them. Maybe I just think that longer 2-camp missions tend to drag for more time then I'd like in a single go.

Holy hell the "affliction using up a turn" is a HUGE one and so is the ability to turn off "lasting mortality debuffs from Death's Door and Heart Attacks." But overall the majority of these fixes and options are fantastic. I feel like they've completely turned things on its head for the better with these changes.

Getting a negative stress effect plus being closer to Heart Attack was enough for me. I can't see toggling anything else off though, unless you're that one unlucky person getting crits from maggots constantly. Accuracy buff will def help heroes like Plague Doctor. No idea why Tracking Shot gets buff even from a miss, which is hilariously illogical, but I'll take it.

I'm probably not gonna turn any of the options off, but stuff like afflicted characters no longer consuming other characters' turns, tab switching, madman reductions, and the overall accuracy boost are welcome fixes. Might just be the roll of the dice but I've had a ton of missions lately where my dudes miss several times in a row before getting murdered. I'll admit that fiddling with enemy crits is tempting though. Last night (pre-patch) some random mook got a crit off against my Occultist, knocking him down from full HP to death's door with a bleed effect which killed him on his very next turn.

I do legit hope there's some voiceover along the lines of "The terrified heroes fruitlessly seek advantage wherever they can find it." when those options are disabled. Nothing necessarily punitive or even mocking, just an acknowledgement that you're all still hosed.

I don't know what they did but gently caress. Just lost level 5 Dismas to literally the first fight of a long ruins mission that put 2 others at death's door. Grounded that mission before it even took off... I guess the one upside is it's longer weird as gently caress for Dismas to be carrying around his own bloody head in bag that we won off a fight with the collector.

From redhook on r/darkestdungeon: With this update we also wanted to announce a planned feature for launch. New Game + With the added new gameplay options to help ease the difficulty for some of our players, we are also planning a mode for those who enjoy the challenge. Plans for NG+ will include a fail state, will require DD mode on, and will have other aspects enhanced to up the challenge.

I'm starting to think God really is on his side. Anybody else I'd have dismissed after accumulating that many negative quirks but this guy just keeps on trucking.

Yea the dark worlds of h.p. lovecraft he did covered quote:Volume 1 People talking about death door debuffs realize that when you pull them off of death's door the lingering debuff is a much weaker version right? Like -3 acc and -5% dmg and poo poo instead of the -10/-20 or so the debuff for sitting there is. Glad there is an option for people to turn stuff off, because the game is pretty great and atmospheric. Looking forward to the hard mode as well!

It's been a while since I played and heard there had been a bunch of changes and additions. Not that I'm complaining but it seems much easier now. Before, even apprentice level dungeons were a slog, now I can slaughter my way through them with ease. I'm liking the hound master and arbalest classes as well.
