EugeneJ posted:It is funny though how the pundits after the GOP debate the other night said "Jeb has all the endorsements - but that doesn't really matter" while the narrative on Bernie is "Hillary has all the endorsements - there's no way he can win" Well there is a pretty stark difference between being in second place in field of 2 with ~35% support, as opposed to first place in a field of 12 with 40% support. In addition Bernie's debate performances haven't been all that impressive, so people who de facto chose Clinton don't see a compelling reason to switch. Whereas with the GoP field before trump people were all ready to accept the "inevitable" Bush vs Clinton rematch But when your inevitable candidate is a lame-duck like Jeb, and the establishment is fractured on who to support instead someone like Trump can really shake things up. Yet despite his massive polling advantages, ground game, and financial resources it's an uphill battle with people STILL claiming Trump has no chance. ate shit on live tv has issued a correction as of 18:51 on Dec 17, 2015 |

SnakePlissken posted:Putin's like, now there's a guy I can relate to. We can do rich plutocrat poo poo together. Putin would likely relate to Bernie too, except that Bernie has no foreign policy at all. Putin wants an ally, Obama isn't it, which is why Putin had to do Syria on his own and will now control Syria. There is still chaos reigning across the Middle East, spreading into Europe. Bernie isn't going to do a thing about it and Putin probably doesn't want to clean up Northern Africa. So I can see where the endorsement comes from. Keep in mind Trump already said he's likely to get along well with Putin, so this may have been in part a response to that.
