It seems that vertiglobals aren't a myth, queued it as a joke and played it for the first time against a 5-stack on vertigo that had spots and strats and the whole shebang but we still beat them 16-2 because they were poo poo at every other aspect of the game

anti-eco or force buy sniper rifle, mostly. A few lucky headshots with a scout can turn a round against a full buying team, but you're not gonna come up against that being consistent until you're about a dozen ranks up
