Cauliflower can be good, but I definitely think it needs to be prepared and seasoned correctly. It's a lot like a potato. Speaking of seasoning vegetables, I ate a few months ago at the Little Goat Diner in Chicago and was really impressed by how good their vegetables tasted, so I brought it up to a friend I know that serves there and she told me the secret to delicious vegetables, which makes them completely unvegetarian.

Raw cauliflower in small pieces works fine as a crunchy element in a garden salad.

This looks like a less attractive version of what my mom is making for Christmas eve dinner* and I am so, so excited. *: For some reason, being Ukrainian means we do all the fun stuff the night before Christmas and spend Christmas day at the movie theatre and getting Chinese food and I not sure why this is because I was always so happy to get presents before anyone else that I never questioned it.

I'm not really one for the Chicago culinary scene, even though I work like three blocks away from half of it, but drat I would recommend Little Goat Diner. It's more down-to-earth diner food (I am not a complicated woman) and it is really really delicious and not at all gross looking.

Tasteful Dickpic posted:PYF Baked Potato Topping You can have the whole recipe! Using a nylon brush, scrub potato thoroughly under cold running water Lightly score with fork brush with a very small amount of olive oil Roll in coarse salt Bake directly on oven rack at 400 f for about 80 minutes Throw it in the garbage because baked potatoes are terrible Heat 1qt water, dash of olive oil, and 2tsp salt to boiling boil 1 lb linguini for about 7 minutes, drain Chop and crush 6 cloves garlic Dice 4 - 8 tinned anchovy fillets depending on how salty they are Heat 1/8 cup olive oil in a heavy pan or wok gently sautee anchovies and garlic until anchovies get melty add 1/4 cup white wine, bring to a simmer and cook for about 1 minute Add 1 can baby clams with juice, return to simmer Add par-boiled linguini and simmer until linguini finishes cooking Sprinkle with coarse salt and pepper to taste
