Similar to Opop's question, my travel bug bite has started itching lately and I'm hoping to make some sort of jaunt over spring break. I don't have much money, so I'm trying to find someplace I can fly to for cheap, get around on foot or by public transit, and won't be spending much on food/lodging. Any ideas for a cool inexpensive/interesting place to spend a week in?

Uxmal nearby has nice ruins, and Merida is a gorgeous place. e; also it's cheap if you stay at a Mexican hotel and not a US based hotel chain.

 My Santa did a wonderful job of e-stalking me and knocked the ball out of the park  1 - Daft Punk's "Discovery" on vinyl - one of my all-time favorite albums. I don't have a record player but one of my best friends (who I saw One More Time with a few years ago) does so I'm going to have him hold it. 2 - A live Disco Biscuits DVD that I didn't know existed for two shows (Red Rocks 09/10) that I've heard good things about but never listened to. I remember trying to go to this show in 2010 but the flight to Colorado was beyond what I could afford at the time. Can't wait to watch this tonight! 3 - Left-handed scissors.  . My boyfriend and I have been growing an Etsy shop over the last year - I recently went down to part-time at my "real job" because I would rather be my own boss supporting him than work in an office. We get all of the materials that we work with from thrift stores, and one of my tasks is to cut all the clothes we get into flat pieces of fabric. I've always just used his scissors - while I knew that left-handed scissors exist, I didn't see the need to get a pair since I had always done just fine with my right hand. I tried cutting some stuff with them last night to see the difference and it's like night and day. I've named them "Excalibur".The receipts mentioned a fourth gift (a South Park action figure of Cartman from Stick of Truth) that wasn't in the box - I'm going to assume either Amazon or the post office screwed up. No worries either way, the other stuff is more than enough. Thanks Santa!

I've been called to ask if I could work for yet a third day off. I'm not saying my managers are incompetent but there is something (corporate? payroll?) forcing them to underschedule like every day of the holidays. Luckily the store is doing very well, it's just weird being called in all the time. This is the first time I had to say no.
