Surrey's condo market has always been terrible and buildings have been delayed and cancelled throughout the boom. It's outpaced by every other hub in the valley (Brentwood, Metrotown, Lougheed, Coquitlam Centre, Lonsdale, New West, Richmond, and arguably several others).

It was a nightmare living there as the suits were rented out by druggies and we always heard loud music, fights, etc in the middle of the night. Almost every third day the police visited the building. A dead body of a middle aged man was lying in the next suit in 25th floor for about 2 weeks and the foul smelling prompted the RCMP to break open the door. Incidents of suicidal fall from the? 15th floor, illegal activities behind the building and thus the list goes on. Last month we found blood splashed inside the elevator and on the carpet on the 25th floor and later learnt that this is because of a fight between the roommates living in a suit in the 25th floor.

Not really sure what anyone was expecting here. This is a tower that has <400 sqft apartments in it, in Surrey.

They should have just started with the crack house to save time.

I used to live in the low-rise development next to this. While I was there two guys pushed in behind me in the door, and proceeded to go one floor up and kick some guys door down. And the garage got broken into, and the storage lockers. And there were needles in the streets outside the building. And a pipe burst and destroyed three units. And when they dug the hole for the tower all the field mice invaded the ground floor condos.

This stupid country.

Foreign investment adds fixed capital via REIT & Commercial projects, which are a huge source of pork for SNC and major liberal donors. Your TFSA, like SIFT Income Trusts were draining revenues from Ottawa which prevented the Liberals from making their books balance circa the 2015 election platform. Hey, you shitheads voted for it, now you all get to enjoy the extra 19% burden on your wealth effect for the next 20 years. Just like the last time the LPC hiked capital gains in the 70's.

Hal, I'm always curious as to where you get your numbers from. Care to source how reducing TFSA cap space by $4500 increases the "burden on my wealth effect" by 19%? Googling does nothing.

Incomprehensible. I'm talking about residential real estate investment as a stupid place to allow foreign investment. Most TFSAs have little in them, and what is in them has already had tax paid on it. Completely different from income trusts where companies were using them as a giant tax dodge. And math without methods might as well be made up.
