So, this EASHL business, for a total newcomer (not to nhl games, I've just ignored it in the past), do you just create a player and get dumped in with pubbies, or can you make/join teams of your pals?

Getting dumped in with different pubbies every game is called "Drop-In" You can make/join teams with your pals.

Thanks for the feedback about 16 vs. Legacy. It's something I probably won't notice when I'm playing, but watching clips to see how "real" the arenas are out of curiosity and the NBC experience, I can't help but notice that virtual Doc Emrick sounds incredibly stiff as compared to real Doc. Every other commentator I've ever heard do a hockey video game (Hughson/Simpson, Thorne/Clement, Hahn/Remenda, Olczyk & Ferraro on the current game) seem to be able to sound like normal people in a recording studio, but DOC!....seems like...he's, a robot...AND IS CONFUSED ABOUT WHEN TO BE EXCITED, while "Score!" is done as if he's bored. Kind of disappointing.

that's what he loving sounds like in real life if the first thing you did when you got this game wasn't turn off the commentary and turn all the arena and in-game fx all the way up you're doing it wrong

I forget maybe demonlord. Welcome to Ted's salt emporium. Glad to have you on team bone. Also I got our custom goal horns working along with between play / period music. Needs to be curated a bit but it works now across party chat and stream. Next up is the overlays. Once we get the ticker at the bottom working we are officially pathetic.

What's the custom goal horn/goal song you guys use? That's been one of my favorite features of the PS3/4 games because I'm a big nerd. I just wish they had fight and goal review music. And is there a link to Goon-streamed games? I could get in on watching some of that action.

Is there any difference between the physical disc and the downloadable game? PSN has the download for $24 this week and if it doesn't run any worse (I've never downloaded a game), I'm taking the disc back.

Basically just buy all your games digitally if price isn't a factor because all a disc gives you is inconvenience from having to swap discs and it doesn't save hard drive space

I got 16 for like $39 at Walmart on Thanksgiving thinking it wouldn't get much better than that, though I was going on vacation and (not being able to play it anyway while gone) didn't open it in case I could find it cheaper for an instance just like this.
