the old one that came with my 5 eventually disintegrated and developed a split in the rubberized coating

we have literally thousands of iOS devices at work, resupplying the guys and gals with replacement cables is a significant issue when they cost nzd 30 each

but also when you're talking top end models they're made better and it's less of an issue, but still bad. on $180 models, midrange models, they're poo poo forever and only small animals such as dogs which cannot resist the temptation to demolish all cables on sight should buy them

any added connector to an audio system is an instant epic fail and it's unbelievable that because of large children who are unable to handle the complex system of a cable the headphone market has made such a serious concession
