Yesterday my friend told me that a couple weeks ago her sister's husband backed his new truck into a pole and destroyed one of his rear light fixtures. Yes, it is equipped with a back-up camera that she said he was using when he hit the pole. And yes, her sister apparently also said that they haven't replaced it yet because "it's too expensive right now." I guess that's one way to get the BWM train rolling again. It being a 2016 probably means that a replacement fixture is going to be pretty expensive, too. Adventures in truck equity

BWM - My SIL/BIL are building a new house in the boonies after barely being able to afford their old house and depending on the family to help feed the kids. House that is being built is by a pretty meh home builder and its being built to absolute minimum code. But this isn't even about the house. The "driveway" is pretty swampy and terrible. Dips down into a creek. They had the people who did the foundation gravel and grade the driveway. The same guys who dug the septic wrong. And had to be yelled at by the home builder. So the PNW has been getting rain like mad the last few weeks. Over christmas I learned that their driveway washed out and all work on the home has been stopped. They are being told to hire a much better company to regrade the driveway again. So they're probably going to end up paying twice as much as they should have because they cheaped out and didn't hire the recommended people in the first place. And the house building is being delayed and i'm pretty sure my inlaws are going to start murdering grandchildren soon since they are all living together. Don't cheap out on the basics for your house people. You can cheap out on finishes and replace them later. You sure as gently caress can't fix your septic or driveway that easily.

Blue Story isn't a troll. We know this because she posted a picture of 4 Kids in the Hall tshirts as proof of her husband's massive Star Wars collection, and because Detectivemonkey said so.

Speaking of Blue Story, if she was Australian I would have sworn I just saw her at the shopping center, as I got out of a lift there was a couple with 2 young kids waiting. The husband was wearing a Star Wars t-shirt and in their trolley was 2 x Star Wars branded kids car seats (the kids were maybe 1 or 2, so they would have been in one for a while yet already), and a bunch of other Star Wars poo poo in the bottom of the trolley

Renegret posted:Anyone mind explaining what's actually going on? He's engaged in a form of investing that is little more than legal internet roulette. The Casino (aka his broker) is no longer offering him the most favourable terms for his bets and he's pissed about it. Apparently his broker offers zero spreads to new account holders. They can bet that XYZ stock will end the day above or below a threshold of $X. If you pick the right direction, you win $85 on a $100 bet. He is no longer being offered zero spread. If he wants to bet on XYZ stock, he has to pick above $X+Z or below $X-Z. If the sock finishes between $X+Z and $X-Z he loses no matter which direction he picked.
